Good job by the Phoenix. Probably the best midfield performance of the season, Lia playing his best so far. Brown and Johnson looked solid and the defense put in a good showing to finally get Moss the clean sheet that he deserved for so long. This is a result that they need to build on for the rest of the season and hopefully go in to the game against Queensland confident.

1-0 TO THE WELLINGTON!!!

Well worth the late night that was. Glen Moss is surely the most in form keeper in the A-League right now, those early saves were gold in a tight match like that. Defence was ok still a little dodgy at times but who cares we won!!!

Tim Brown was fantastic, what a pass to Daniel for the winner too. And to Daniel, a well taken goal me lad!!

Well, this has set up the weekend quite nicely i must say. PHOENIX TILL I DIE!!!

Moss is definately most inform keeper in the league he is doing great!!

What a win. I was pretty nervous in the 5 minutes injury time, and no matter how frustrating I find it when teams take the ball into the corner to waste time I think it can be justified as it brought the Phoenix 3 points.

Well taken goal from Daniel and great saves from Moss.

i was a the game WHAT A GAME loved every second of it sorry i couldnt get any posts up last night hope someone else who was at the game didsomehow i ende up in my hotel again anyway mosses saves early were great defence looked extremely vunerable lochhead and christie are slow but they still kept them out. The difference perth wasted all their chances we took ours. Highlights of the game daniels dance after scoring the goal, some of the yf boys walking into the glory stand, and perth crossing it to perth striker j.simpson only for him to get hit on the back of the head losing sight of the ball and looking round frantically for it ohy and getting to talk to tony lochhead that was good too

Having watched te game this afternoon, we deserved to win. Some of the Glory tactics were something of a shame. Poor Plodder, didn't even touch the guy. Coyne - wtf was that about? Their Captain got what he deserved.

Well done Nix, despite the referee. Anyone figure out what is was between the ref and the 4th official? especially around substitution times??
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Aw man, watching this match was AWESOME. Nothing compared to being in the Ring of Fire, or at the Fever Lounge, but MAN was it good.

I've been on the North Shore the last few days to support my brother in his martial arts regional comp, and even though he convinced me to miss out on TW beat Waitak (despite the generous offer of Auckland Jag to help me with transport), there was NO WAY I was missing a second of Phoenix action. My brother needed to sleep so I couldn't watch it in our hotel, so I went walking around Milford, up towards Glenfield, then finally to Takapuna. After every bar said they weren't showing the match or were closing halfway through it, I found ONE PLACE willing to play it. They changed over immediately after the boxing and I watched the last half of Clogs vs Cakes then....the first half of Phoenix Glory (no vs needed! ) Turns out they misheard me say the times or something - they closed at 1am just like everyone else after an hour of amused patrons watching me react to the action rather than watch the match itself! (I tried to start "COME ON PHOENIX!" with little success....SO missed the Fever). But they left the TV on for me to watch through the window while they cleaned up, even going out of their way to not block my view of the TV. So spent the second half in the cold (which I love) surrounded by cigarette smoke (which I can hardly stand but will for the Phoenix) causing half of Takapuna wonder "who the heck is Daniel and why is he a bloody legend?" Absolutely stoked to see Mossy get the clean sheet, especially as a keeper myself (albeit in lacrosse...maybe next year in football) and especially great to see us beat a hungry Perth that are due (I'll be cheering for them against Newcastle this week).

Hats off to The Copper Room in Takapuna for helping a Feverite get his fix in the big smoke. Lads, I'll be back in Wellington for the match against the Clogs, right after Team Wellington vs YHM!

A win and a clean sheet will do wonders for the confidence. Let's hope it carries over to Suncorp next week. Maybe a season turning point.

Superb goal. great ball through from brown- perfectly weighted, and he kept his head and looked up- could have just kept going and had a go himself.

And great story Robbwatson- good to see some true dedication!

Daniel is harder to recognise without his afro
