wtf has happened, the games against boca and GCU were great too watch with the later in terrible conditions but now it is all just long balls straight ahead. It appears as though getting a target man has been a terrible decision for the nix as they completly neglect thier width.

Defenders FFS try playing someone along the ground!!!!!
Yeah we were brilliant in the Boca game and we weren't too bad against the Roar in Hamilton either. It seems as though we're playing completely different tactics for no reason whatsoever. So much angst! When is Tegal and the like coming on to tell us to stop being so negative?

Kinda like season 2 then? When we were awesome and went to the final of the PSC and then were complete sh*t for about the first 6 rounds of season proper.

We are dynamite at home but to make top 4 you need to win away. We need to get rid of the negativity about travelling. The next 3 games are crucial. Need to pick up at least 7 points.

i really think a back four with north at RB, and muscat at LB could be a whole lot better

Was pretty disappointed that we let Fowler have a free header in front of goal again. I'm think we let him do that last season as well.

since Tony P went, we've had nothing. Everyone lost faith and confidence. BRING HIM BACK !!

Too much f**king angst. Seriously, we've played two of the better teams in this league away from home been very close to snatching points in both. We're not going to win every game FFS. Should we get dismantled by a pretty sh*t Sydney team at home then there might be some cause for angst.
this

four of us here thought we delivered one of the best short passing, possession retaining games from us for a while.  they played out from the back as they said they would work to do, and did it well

defensive blunders cost us,and there is a big gap about to be filled there with North arriving and muscat back, otherwise we matched the top side in the league away from home

game four in a long season and looking pretty promising with a number of new acquisitions still to gel

Yeah, we're so doomed.  Away trips we almost got a point from at two ground we're rubbish at and undefeated at home.

Close the club down now !  Whoooo demands it.

f**k I wish Vinnie had buried that early chance.

what about Paston on this ???

a high ball on the six yard box and he stays on his line ?????

i'm certain if he came out he would have got it. PURE.

First half - same rubbish as last couple of weeks.

Second half better.

Positives;

Pav looks hungry - still rough and raw but, for me, earned a start next week.

Ward - not a bad effort for a guy who has been with the team 5 minutes - at least he looks to go forward at pace. Also earned a start next week - don't know who to drop out of Lia or Brown - they are both sooooo sloooooow  - take your pick.

Muscat back next week.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Was my initial thought as well. The cross wasn't a long one though, so he didn't really have much time to get there. He may have got there - he definitely thought about it for a split second. Not certain.

The trouble the defence face is that when we took control late last year we had a three man midfield with Manny, Vinnie and Brown.  Of that set Manny provided the defence with a shield.

Quite clearly without him or someone else in that role we get steamrolled.

absolutely no way. that ball was too low and short for the keeeper. if he'd gone for that he would have made a clown of himself. that ball should have been dealt with by the defenders at the front post.

ifill is too predictable at the moment. needs not to dribble every now and then

Aaargh! Ward to start next week, very good performance from him all things considered. I'd yank brown out. Manny for hearfield for sure. Lia - how well can that guy tackle? Immense in that department, but <insert expletive here> his short passing game is absolutely diabolical.

he is a slow big guy........

OMG keep him in the box and fire our balls at him.

Yeah I agree. The cut-back dribble worked last season but I think clubs have worked that out now

Arjen Robben at the world cup anyone?

I think part of Ifill's drop in form is due to him feeling he has take it upon himself to do more because there are f**k all other options - more players showing and making runs might help. Other teams are also closing him down very very quickly.

Just a theory.

Just a thought, could Diego come into the frame against Sydney? Would really show the rest of the team they need to wake up a little/

Rojas?

Don't think players effort in terms of work rate was at question for most of the game. We just looked like we had a total lack of ideas, although perhaps Perth's slick attacking football just exaggerated that. Must say Perth are looking quality, especially Pellegrino and Sterjovski.

Why is it when we are on attack and we lose possession the opposition seem to just stream up the park with little or no defensive positioning by our midfield ,we seem to be ironically at our most  most vulnerable when we are on attack ,its a paradox I know but our midfield have to be more defensive when the opposition breaks and try to at least  keep up with the play !
