Cool when is it? Would love to watch it!
Played a fair bit of 7v7 and 8v8 before moving here, I actually prefer it to both 11-a-side and futsal as suits my physical and technical ability (or lack thereof) much better.

It's fun to play and I really wish there were more opportunities to play those codes here in NZ.

Guess that McGarry to Portugal rumour might be true, this seems like something that he would benefit from being involved in.

Hi there, I think I should have a brief post about this, as I lived in Hong Kong and a Hong Kong Phoenix!

The Stream: Follow this, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnojqgYabCmagABe9...

Or simply subscribe "Hong Kong Soccer Sevens", local time is 11:15am, Phoenix won't play until tomorrow after, local time 3:57pm, don't know why they start so late! Today 6pm will start the Masters Tournament first, kick off at 6pm

Honestly as I heard, the organizer had changed people, as you know no more lunch time canon to fire, they change their hotel, it's more close to the city. More shops closer and even they have a 24 hours supermarket besides, which I think the players would be more happier I think.

I miss to see Alex Rufer yesterday, and the Official Wellington Phoenix post this:

Norwich City supporter since 1992, New Zealand supporter since 2010 but without Rory Fallon's winning goal against Bahrain, I won't know about New Zealand Football.

Lose the first game to Kashima Antlers 1-0. Shark defense, way too slow on the ball, hopefully we step it up in the next matches. Two clear penalty calls went against us though. Keegan and Rogerson were good I thought, was excited for Calvin Harris but the game completely passed him by

Thought Cacace was decent too, kept making those terrific runs down the wing like he does in the A league.

I didn't think much of KA. Their ball movement was way too slow. The odd time they got forward was lack of concentration and not tracking runs properly from our players.

I think we were the slow ones, they were just happy to sit back and timewaste until they saw a gap in defense. Our defense definitely not good enough, hope they step it up, Cacace went too attacking and Philip was left on his own

i thought that was mostly fine. You can't press willy nilly and we did mostly well positioning, i think harris, so that he could cut out the pass to one side of the field for the keeper, press the keeper and then we would press the passing options. KA were slow in their build up and we were able to set this up often, its just the odd occasion we didn't track runs that KA created overloads.

Kashima just beat West Ham 3-0

Singh kicks things off in the second game with a typical stunner.

Edit: And make that a double.

Leading 3-0 as the stream breaks. Singh with two goals, a worldie and another decent long range strike, Rufer puts away a pen. If we play like this against West Ham we'll win, they weren't clinical at all vs Kashima

I'm curious, do people feel he's developed enough to build a team around? Or is he still a rough diamond? Personally I think he should be one of the first names on the team sheet without question, Nix and NZ future

Definitely a close starter in the All Whites, is there any other CAM that would be better than him?

McGlinchey's done for, Lewis and Patterson haven't been impressing, Thomas would be great at CAM but we need him deeper. So yeah I reckon he could definitely be a starter for NZ, main contender for me is Ridenton as Merrick wants to play him as a CAM next season

1-0 loss to West Ham. Did our best, can't fault the effort but we need to be more clinical + Rogerson is way too showboaty to be a pro footballer

Redenton's  passing is not up to scratch and his finishing is poor. He will need to improve greatly in these facits if he is to be any good at CAM

Finishing isn't great, but his passing is normally spot on and stats reflect that. For me his major issue is decision making (i.e. taking too long on occassion), probably just needs to trust a) his instinct and b) his teammates and that will come right.

Yeah, apart from the hong Kong teams we're probably the most experienced squad in the tournament. West Ham had a guy who made a couple first team appearances and is an England U19 regular (Nathan Holland), but we lost to Newcastle Jets who was an entirely youth side which is pretty embarassing
