Perhaps it's the stadium telling them the ground isn't available and the Phoenix being stuck, rather than the Phoenix moving it for the fun of it ?

They probably only booked Bon Jovi a couple of days ago
a.haak

What is really stupid is a 5pm kickoff on Sunday, generally making return on sunday night impossible.
TOTAL f**kUP
The NPC/ITM Cup finishes in November, so it's not like there is anything booked for the Saturday?

Adelaide are not playing midweek on the 1st of December, but the Phoenix are in Sydney, which is why we have the Sunday..

I'm slightly disappointed!
I very very much doubt that. The club would have had a confirmed booking, and westpac would have compensated them for the change of date. I very much doubt that the westpac can substitute a date without consent.
I'd ask the acting CEO to compensate fans for change fees who hold pre-announcement booking out of this package, and to consider the loss of goodwill to season ticket holders who have paid good money in flights and hotels to go support their team.

Thanks very much indeed.

still sucks like sh*t though for all the fans who've got in early with flights and accommodation
In England fixtures are quite often changed at short notice due to teams making another round in a cup etc what do the clubs there do for their fans ??

To be honest, they don't do anything.
However this is more of an expectation thing. Cup runs, and the demands of Sky mean that you can expect the time/day of matches to change from the original season fixture list. In the UK Sky can decide with relatively little notice to show a game, and that often changes the time and even day of kick-off.
In the previous three seasons, the Phoenix have stuck to the original fixture list almost exactly, and in fact that is what they're doing here. They are playing the same matches, at the same times as originally scheduled, but at a different venue. I don't know how many people had already booked Christchurch trips, but it quite a major inconvenience and cost to change now. Potentially greater than the inconvenince of changing the time/date of the 5th Dec home match. So the A-League, the Phoenix ans Sky TV are ok, it's just the supporters who get shafted.

"stadium unavailability is, quite simply, the only factor that has forced the club to amend the fixture schedule, effectively swapping the December 5 and December 18 matches. This is the result of circumstances entirely outside the clubs control.
The club only learned of the clash of the December 5 match with the Bon Jovi concert late last week. As per our contract with Westpac Stadium, all concert events take precedence over sporting events and, as such, the decision to reschedule the fixtures was imposed on us well after the original season draw had been released."

I will be writing to them to tell them i have no goodwill left to the Westpac.

This forum needs less angst and more Kate Bush threads
I did say that i thought they'd have to agree to as move dates ( which in fairness contractually it seems they have pre-agreed to it.)
I still maintain they're likely to be compensated by the Westpac for this & I don't think you're denying that the whole fiasco has cost a number of people a substantially ammount of money
