Yes, because penalising the club for something beyond their control is exactly what the club needs.
I normally don't like to disagree with you News but the Club have not handled this well at all. Unless in the next day or two they come and out and say what they will do to help fans they will have pissed off a lot of their core fan base.
It's obvious from reading these posts that the club have pissed off a lot of people, but I'm not entirely sure it's justified.
When you buy airline tickets you can buy refundable ones, it's just that they're more expensive. I'm not sure the club should be held responsible for the fact that you didn't. Just because you don't choose to read the small print doesn't mean it isn't there.
Concert goers put up with this stuff all the time because bands are forever cancelling shows, moving the date, getting nicked at customs etc. Anytime I buy tickets to go to Auckland for a gig, which I do regularly, I am always aware there's a risk of being out of pocket.
On the other hand individual bands don't necessarily expect me to have a repeat purchase experience with them quite like a football club does.
