Tragic end to a great night. http://www.stuff.co.nz/4313311a10.html

Did any Feverites know him or is anyone going to the funeral.

that's sad news, my condolences to his family and girl friend,

perhaps we should see if the mods can reword the topic to "Phoenix fan dies after Beckham game" (as "killed" implies something more sinister than an accident)

Very sad news. Is there anything we can do in terms of a memorial, like a minutes silence or something?

Terribly, terribly sad.

To Michael's family:  We never knew him, but he was one of us and we share your grief.

Have flageed this already and will speak to Ross and Ricki to get their ok and then clear it with FFA. Should not be a problem. Very very sad.

Yeah I agree with the armbands for tomorrow, think that would be fitting, just a sign of respect for the guy and his family. Poor guy. RIP.

Is there enough money in the kitty for YF to send flowers (yellow of course) to his family?

Great work lads and good effort nightz. Armbands tomorrow night are a must. I'll bring some black tape.

Its no longer a problem.

maybe this could stay at the top of the forum so people can see it
might be nice if it could be printed off after a few days and sent in a sympathy card to the family from yellow fever

well done nightz for organising flowers

and good on you Tony for putting it forward for the minutes silence

Wow that's a huge shock, just goes to show you how much more serious real life can be than the football. This puts a damper on the whole weekend for me. I hope we can get a huge response at the stadium for our fellow supporter.

R.I.P. Michael, and condolences to the family.

As KTBW said, this is a sad reminder that there are more more important things than football.

Just wondering if it's worth one of the Admin boys printing this thread and maybe passing it on to the family?
