After seeing the first half of Adelaide - Phoenix I did not expect Phoenix to loose.
Will next year be better?
I expect if we have Shane Smeltz and Marco Rojas it definitely will even win the A-League.
If you look at the number of assists Marco gave in only the few games he played. Phoenix will only need somebody that can finish. I believe Ricky will be looking at these players in Europe but we have Shane Smeltz next door. New players this last year were promising but what happened to them?
One thing that will make the A-League betterfor Phoenix is if we get better scheduling of games. Ricky asked for that. I am Dutch, but already over 30 years living in Auckland. I was only used to the European schedules of 1 competition game a week. Never saw the A-League plan. Which definitely works out wrong for a team that has to travel long distances.

if's - only one really possible if and that's Rojas being re-signed.....smeltz is not coming back to the nix, no matter how much we'd all love it.

He has - off the record - made statements about how he played his best football here and indicated that he still loves us really. Whether that equates to ignoring Tony Sage's mining dollars seems a big stretch though.
