I dont mind it actually. Always a fan of black in a top, the only
thing that puts me off is the two white lines going from the collar
by each arm

should we change our name to black fever?
All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

The away strip could possibly yellow then i guess.

i think we should call it the PHOENIX FIVE
cross between the phoenix/famous five/ and block five.
no offence but
yellow fever doesn't really tell me anything about who we are?

Are our players going to be smaller than those in the other teams
or is the size of the shirt on the 442 website mocking us ?

I don't think they're all that bad. There's a bit too much black on
it for my liking. I'd probably buy an away shirt if it is yellow.
That will definitely be white Phil. They all are. No
point in an away strip that clashes with another A-League sides
home strip.
Yeah a bit too black although I prefer that than looking like a bunch of bumble bees.

442?
Plus, its BLOC 5 not BLOCK 5

I think it looks good. The predominantly black keeps a national
feel to it as well.

Now start selling them. I want one!

What is up with the white strips, surely they could have been
yellow/gold

Dumbass A-League. Away shirt should only be used when the home
shirt of the visiting team clashes with the shirt of the home team.

Then there'd be no need for all away shirts to be white.

Unfortunately it was never going to be yellow and Hard News noted
Reebok don't do stripes. I like it - it reminds me of the old
Wellington rugby jerseys. Any news on the shorts? I'd
prefer white to black as all black would look too much like the
Knights tops

Bolton's 2005-2006 away strip was pin-striped & made by Reebok.
Shame it's another black top, it would have been nice to move away from undertaker look. Maybe the shorts will be yellow!!!

Stupid ridiculous Reebok templates. Wellington had potential to
have the best kit. Still better then NZs kit though.

thats a disgrace. should have been yellow/black stripes as you guys
wanted. dissapointing. it means the only original team strip in the
league is melbourne, with the white V on dark blue.

I still wanted us to be predominantly white shirts with yellow and black trim...

They are a new franchise. They have done most things pretty
well. The name. The draw. The stadium. They are permitted the odd
error of judgement (probably foisted on them by the FFA and Reebok
as suggested).
But Wellington's defining colour is yellow. This is a
Wellington team. The Phoenix and the FFA will see the light
eventually (probably as soon as they get rid of that warehouse
of surplus Knights material). The spirit of the Fever is
yellow, not black. We shall be patient.
I give them two seasons before they accept the
inevitable.
The world was flat before it was round.
We shall be humble when the day comes.

In two seasons the Reebok deal is up, and that could be the saviour
for all of us...
Reebok want to use the stock of black material they have. They must
have the FFA in their back pocket.

sort of accepting the inevitable - when is a nz rep team NOT going
to be black these days? (netball, cricket, rugby to name but
several ...)
- the large sponsorship logo might be yellow ????

Maybe we can scrape some coin together and get naming

I don't mean to be picky here lads, but since when has Yellow been
the cities predominant colour ? From what I san see it's
Black with yellow, not yellow with Black.
The Wellington Lions jersey which must be the longest serving symbol of Wellington sport has less yellow than the Phoenix design...

make the numbers and names yellow?

Just roll out the yellow gaffa tape, make some ad-hoc stripes or
hoops, and all will be well.

Cool, I'll be able to wear my old Kingz shirt again. Very similar.
Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Agreed.
Don't mind the strip - I wanted black and yellow stripes like most people but that was never going to happen in a million years.

how about, since the colour isn't going to change, we just use our
imagination and pretend its yellow? or wear yellow tinted sunnies
at the games?

Hey 'Nix Supporters,
If you want stripes then start lobbying your club for stripes. Since Victory have been in the league there has been a conceited push by supporters to have a white "V" on our strip. By contacting the club and constantly arguing that it should be done the club pushed Reebok and we got what we wanted!
It may take a few years but if you keep pushing for it and keep emailing the club eventually it will happen. You also need crowds that prove to Reebok the money is worth spending.

I assume it won't arrive in NZ for a little while, but are these shirts on sale straight away in Aussie?

Don't think so. They haven't been officially released yet,
that is from 4-4-2. I was talking to someone at one of the
Aus clubs he isn't expecting them to be on sale until June.
