Moss gets my vote, just shading Dodd, while both Felipe and Daniel had good games.

You also got a 'what a farken hell was that' as you were climbing back up into the Fever zone if my memory serves me correctly...

Ha That was prob fair enough - but more so for Thommo for his shocking wheelbarrow effort and his Ricki Gervais dancing

Daniel is class. Yep distribution could do a bit of work but drop him? NO WAY!

Daniel does a huge amount for us. he is on the ball all the time - trying to create things. He does not shirk any workload.

Watch the ground he covers when you lose the ball as well.  Fantastic example to the others.  There was one attack that broke down yesterday with 5 Nix players up in the final third of the pitch, 4 jogged back while Daniel sprinted 50 yards into his own half.

I think Daniel is a class player . He has his moments when he does a bad pass and loses the ball but he always gives us attacking flair and puts in a good effort defence wise.

My man of the match was Felipe.
He's class.

Moss over Felipe and Christie. 0-0 at halftime was flattering - sure he was a bit shaky in the first goal, but it had to happen sooner or later. But I'm rarely a "blame the keeper" kind of guy.

Daniel works his ass off, and besides the theatrics he's still one of the linchpins of our attacking midfield. Sub him at 60 for impact players, sure, but he deserves to start. Without him a man-marked Felipe might have a quiet game.
Having said that, running out of places to fit George in for a start he deserves a shot at...

I'm suprised George has got more votes than Christie and Aloisi put together... Sure, he trapped the ball a couple of times and got 2 free kicks but 10 mins aint enough time to rate a player.

paston and old got the same amount of votes as johnston yet those two didn't even get off the bench...

Alosi gets my vote, huge workrate off the ball and when he has the ball, almost every time finds a teamate, not like some others Mr Christie.

And have a think about it - voting for 75th minute substitutes like some of you have is a bit of a joke

Maybe the best way to solve it is do up the poll AFTER the game has finished. If the subs didn't come on or didn't have an impact, then don't include them in the poll......

Great theory, but many of us can't function until lunchtime Sunday and that means people's recollections are incomplete.

Yer what? A free header in the 6 yard box that then came back off the post to be headed in? Doesn't sound like a dominant keeper to me.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

If their recollections are that incomplete then they probably shouldn't vote! :-)

George had an effect? I didn't think he did much at all to be fair

Felipe for MOTM.

He is a match winner. He is and about everything and scores goals. I thought that Daniel was extremely good also. In reference to the diving, he comes from a place where the referees are much more willing to pay a free kick for body contact, so diving occurs a lot. We are less tolerant here so Daniel will catch on soon. Other than that, even though I dont feel he has been great, he is very valuable.

George was a pleasant surprise. He brought another dimension to the game and I really hope that it was a glimpse of more to come. It looks like he has found some hunger and could be useful.

A win next week, and Wellington is right on track.

If George isn't on the pitch, Nix don't have as much forward movement in the last ten minutes.
If he's not there - there's no one to challenge the keeper and force/panic him into not taking the cross, Smeltz doesn't get his goal, Nix lose.

[QUOTE=valeo]I'm suprised George has got more votes than Christie and Aloisi put together... Sure, he trapped the ball a couple of times and got 2 free kicks but 10 mins aint enough time to rate a player.

He did all that in 10 mins, Aloisi, Ferrante and Johnson had 90 each and did little...  Man of the Match is waaaaay over the top, but I can see why people voted for him.  (Even if most of them voted before he even got on the pitch!)

*By the way, don't want to leave Felipe out, but there's nothing much to say about the guy that hasn't been said already.  A revelation, exactly the kind of player the league needs.

Felipe go my vote because he was the most entertaining and got the scoreboard started.   If Geogre played 90 minutes like his 15, I think he would have got it.

Some interesting voting, espically Ferrante getting 2.   I remember saying to the guy next to "fark I didn't think Ferrante was playing" after he muffed a shot 60 minutes in.  I think that was first time he got involved.  He needs to keep the form he showed against Sydney otherwise Geogre or Tim Brown should surely be starting.

I think it's great to have a bit of depth in our side, to have these criticisms. Not saying its wrong to criticise, just great to have depth!!

Agree Alistair Dodd gets my vote too - reminded me of the effort  from Martin Keown (Arsenal) vs Newcastle (i think) circa Christmas'03. Kicked to death, head bandaged up, hardly able to see and constantly defended all night. Great effort Dodd.

Yep Dodd is an absolute rock at the back. Really gets in the attackers faces - great stuff.

I voted for Paston for being patient and waiting his turn.  A role model for the kids watching.

What else could he have done?

I've been reading thru this thread from the beginning thinking "I'm gonna mention Aloisi diving instead of sticking his foot out", then damn you, you went and said it.  No one else thought this was odd? He wouldn't have been put off by something his former boss said would he?

On the MOM topic, didn't see the whole game, but Fillepe seemed to do plenty to get it, and Daniel's passing was finding its target a bit more often. Looked like Dodd was getting stuck in (or stuck into). Crowd was loud. Is there a "Fever zone / 12th man" option?

smeltz was average, he has no touch at all. should've tucked away the chance he had. the headed goal hid an average display, george looked much better when he came on, didnt give up the ball as easily and looked sharper then smeltz.

George was on for about 10 minutes, and touched the ball very few times in that period. Smeltz had to toil away for 85 minutes playing the lone striker. It's not a very fair comparison.
