A source spoken to by NBR said one of the Phoenix five had already flown to Australia for discussions with the Football Federation of Australia.
Oh, good. Wait, what's this "buy the club"? I thought they were only offering to put money in to keep it afloat.

This is great. I've brought the Nix down by posting on a webforum. I had no idea I had spooky powers like that. Can I also make Mr Not A Lawyer's head explode by posting about it? There's only one way to find out.

Your membership dollars are secure. The way it works is that the Stadium holds the money and it will not be released to the Phoenix until a Bank guarantee for the entire funds is given. Only then will it be released.
WE all know Terry is ion financial strife, we've all read/heard that he won't sell the team yet. The conjecture is all around the "other buyers" and sources that say they exist.

Supporters are crucial for every club to support their club well, chant, applause, buy tickets, buy merchandise etc. Not to all have the same uniform opinions about who the owner should be.
Basically, I don't think the situation with the ownership of the Phoenix would be any different if Dolares had not posted anything, or posted different opinions.

Disagree with your comments. How does supporting someone cause this?? I think Terry has earned the respect for what he has done. Going forward the final decision on the state of the Phoenix will not be decided by the fans, players or staff. FFA will make the final decision. Until then Terry is still the Chairman.
LATEST: Wellington Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert is owed more than $100,000 by the Terry Serepisos-owned club and has engaged lawyers, according to a report today.
Former Supreme Court judge Bill Wilson has confirmed he was acting for Herbert, but would not give details about the work, according to the National Business Review today.
However, Serepisos denied the club owed Herbert $100,000 and refused to say whether it owed any money at all to the coach.
The property developer has been battling attempts to bankrupt him and his lawyers last week submitted a plan to the High Court for a trustee to sell most of his remaining property portfolio over about two years.
Serepisos has staunchly stood by his continued ownership of the Phoenix, where he says it is ''business as normal", and recently brushed aside concerns over late payments to his players, saying there was a one-day delay caused by an ''internal issue".
He is also adamant that a $100m loan arranged from Western Gulf Advisory, a Bahrain-based lender that has been accused of fleecing investors in Australia, would still come through.
It has been estimated that Mr Herbert is supposed to be paid about $200,000 a year for coaching the Phoenix.
It is understood five businessmen are positioning themselves to run the Phoenix should Serepisos fall, with Wellington City Council sports portfolio leader John Morrison telling The Dominion Post growing concern over Serepisos' financial position had led to the formulation of a back-up plan to ensure the survival of the club.
Herbert could not immediately be reached for comment this evening.

If I really thought what I posted here mattered to the future of the Nix, I would certainly do so sober.

Sorry but you're not in any position to tell people that things they have posted in this thread "are the dumbest thing" ever considering that every single issue related to the future of the club that you have commented on you have gotten wrong.

personally I think certain yfites should stop lumping us all in together. I feel sorry for Terry and don't wish him to vanish. I'm just sick of the fact that any of us who said hey this more than likely has substance and who have supported the Dom Post's right to treat TS's financial dealings as news have been called Doom Mongerers for months....
The only thing I really want Terry to do at the mo is to stop publicly saying my loan is coming my loan is coming - how can anyone take him seriously when he appears as gullible as an ex govt employee currently sitting in a foreign prison cause her so called online love asked her to fetch a suitcase
I also note The Dom has given a lot of coverage to David Blackmore's mortgagee selloffs lately - maybe rosey glassed people shd be defending his rights too and bleating about it not being news - sheesh obviously the Doom Post has a vendetta about Wgtn property developers who don't pay their bills

I think Bob Jones denied it a while back didn't he??
I would certainly suspect Lloyd Morrison and Morgan would be involved - Morrison especially has a history of investing in Wgtn sport, diving, and waterpolo especially
Normo's coming home
I'm not defending AucklandPhoenix's views, but seriously? He is not allowed an opinion because he lives in Auckland? What the f**k? And I never knew that going to Phoenix games increased your intelligence and the value of your opinion. Perhaps if we publicised that a bit better then we might get a few more season ticket holders.

I did read his post... and I knew you wd jump to the poor lasses defence yet again. I think AP maybe overstated - but I think ignorance as the ship goes down is still stupid ignorance

If he truly cares for the club he will step down soon - giving the new owners enough time to complete the takeover. Otherwise this season will be a complete disaster (Knightesque) and may compromise the future viability of the club.
We'll see what Terry cares about within the next couple of weeks.
