"The 2-year sponsorship deal will see the Fullerton Markets brand displayed on Head Coach Ernie Merrick’s uniform – chest, arm, and collar – and will include inner sanctum experiences for some of Fullerton Markets clients".
Givers or takers?

This sounds positively scary. Bloody glad I'm not the coach.

They get to meet the YF team at the pub pre-game

It can be a disteaction for sure, but the sponsor obviously wants to make the maximum exposurefor their dollars. I would imagine as per normal, those not in the playing squad will of course be acting as ambassadors at games andseeing to such sponsors. probably down in the tent zone or the big glass box upstairs.

That sounds right and fairly normal doesn't it?
Injured or resting players sit with sponsors and do promo shark all the time don't they?
Garage Project and the Phoenix create an Australasian first.
Wellington craft brewery Garage Project will be pouring their beer for Phoenix fans at the Westpac stadium for the next three years.
It is the first time that an independentcraft brewery will have the pourage rights for any sports club in Australasia and it comes with several uniquely Wellington approaches.
Absolutely brilliant and will still allow other craft breweries to have taps
Awesome
Does this mean no more really with Carlsberg though?

Carlsberg are gone burgers
Are Garage Project the next shirt sponsor or are they soley providing the stadium?
Carlsberg still listed as a "Premium Partner"
Garage Party is a "Corporate Partner"

I think this is a great take away too. i wouldnt have held it against garage Project to just have their beer there as they got the contract, but allowing others to strengthen the industry in Wellington is a really cool move.

surely you can't have two beer partners
heard GP are doing a Phoenix beer. fact?
Very classy 'non-corporate' move by Garage Project to not shut others out. It just makes me like them more and want to drink their beer even more - although I'm a big fan anyway.
Plus it is very a Wellington 'collaboration-style' move as well - which just goes to create more of a unique atmosphere around Wellington and the Nix. It even makes the Stadium seem bit better!
Win-Win all round I'd say.
Probably a classy move by Carlsberg as well if they allowed it (I imagine they probably had veto rights).
We're a garage brand!
BEER!
Cool! Might have to catch a train in for a game.
See KPMG is on the background in the photo with Rossi, new or have I missed it before?
Email received today from Snapper starts with...
Phoenix yellow fever takes over Snapper
Hi
Does your blood run Yellow and black? Have you been struck with the Yellow fever?
Snapper loving all things Wellington are pleased to support the Wellington Phoenix as they embark on their 10th season in the Hyundai A-league!...
I was quite surprised to see that the 'yellow fever' phrase had been used by Snapper. Thought they might have known better, or the club given them some warning not to appropriate the identity of the club's supporter group.
We are quite surprised too.
Especially because snapper is owned by infratil who's owners also own the Phoenix.
So I take it that a polite word has happened:
https://www.snapper.co.nz/yellow-fever-takes-over-snapper/
It's mostly harmless
Is it an issue?
I would have thought puns about the supporters group to the club would have been a good thing.
Cara is not happy!

Ohhh boy...I might have to visit Twitter today.
Does she think the actual yellow fever disease is racist too?
How would you use it as a racist term? I can see how someone may take offence to are reference to a disease that kills 30,000 Africans each year, but I'm not sure how to use yellow fever in a racist way?

Cheers.
Yet another funny example of someone ignoring context so they can get outraged on the Internet.
It's the 2010 World Cup where Americans got outraged over the all whites, all over again.
OUTRAGE! RACISM! I AM WHITE LADY! ARRGH!
it also reminds me of the time someone said we were racist for chanting "same old Aussies, always cheating" at hutt rec. ignoring context in order to get outraged (even ignoring context that one was a bit thin).
