Yes
Apparently they have up to three games lined up in China. Pignata said they would go if they were playing first division teams.Big plus would be that the Chinese as hosts would pay expenses. Not sure when though.

Other plus is that its looking pretty good for the Phoenix to be involved in a three way playoff in the O-League, probably in April. Phoenix vs Waitakere......bring it on.

Looks like we don't have to wait 6 months to see the lads in action again. The real bonus for Rickie is that these games will really give him an opportunity to trial players and formations. Should mean we go into the next A-League better prepared.

Think I read smewhere that they're looking at maybe playing some pre-season typegames in China (?). Depends on the standard of opposition that they can organise

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Oh God. I can just see the floods of complaint from Happyted and his cronies. Mind you, after we give WU and ACFC a pasting, we might get some peace for a while!

Also a good opportunity to scout a few options.  Ya never know who you might come accross in the opposition that is keen to give the A-League (which had significant numbers - mentioned last night on WOF) a crack.

I agree mate, look at the opposition as you never know they could have a talanted player whose contract may be expiring or can get someone on the cheap!

by the way do we have a transfer budget?

People think that we would waltz through but i'm not so sure. Anything can happen in football - especially when you are 100% expected to win.

Phoenix vs Waitakere at the Ring of Fire would be a hell of a game....might get a good crowd too.

It would be a tough "take no prisoners" game. Waitakere would be hugely motivated and a Phoenix win would not be 100% guaranteed. They should win though but it would not be easy.

Not going to be easy, but a team with filled with veteran ex knights (Hay, Bazely, Emblen) can't realistically match us.

Actually you will only play one of the NZFC teams
as they are both in the same group

I hear the Nix are going to watch that Chinese central defender Wee Doh Ping but he'd have to pass a steroid abuse test first.
