Man!! If O'Dor kept getting his normal sized schnozz busted every week, what's that poor b*****d going to have to suffer

Glad he's not a rugby player. That would put a new spin on "The Full Time Hooter"

That might explain the stalling in him signing....

With a nose like that he could well be Jewish, and will be milking us for ever last penny. :D

Or perhaps someone with a nose fetish.

You can do a heck of a lot of things with a nose like that

great bit of geography here *sigh*

There are rumors that Hartlepool United striker Joel Porter is leaving the club to return home to Australia.

Porter has reportedly signed a pre contract agreement with Australian side Wellington Phoenix which would see him return to his native country when his Pools contract expires in the summer.

Talking to a fellow FM researcher...

RKC should come back up yes. They lead the comp by 3pts but have stumbled of late. There is only 1 automatic promotion spot so first is crucial. Teams 2-9 plus teams 16 & 17 from the Eredivisie play-off for the other 2 Eredivisie spots.

Vicelich has only played twice this season

I want to redo my order of likely signings.

Just reading the news article on the Thunder on the home page, it is interesting what they mention about the GCG.

Gold Coast has been a different proposition, with football director Miron Bleiberg, the former Queensland Roar coach, having obtained contractual agreements with a number of A-League players, who will sign as soon as the club is officially admitted.

The players include Andre Gumprecht from Central Coast Mariners, Noel Spencer from Newcastle Jets, a midfielder from Brazil, former Roar keeper Scott Higgins and Karl Dodd from Wellington Phoenix.

Bleiberg is in Melbourne scouting players from the Victorian Premier League.

There is no mention of Felipe, but a midfielder from Brazil could mean him, but what interests me is seeing Karl Dodds name there as having signed an agreement to join the club if their proposal is accepted for next season. Is he not on a two year contract and therefore have 1 more season left at the Nix? It could explain why Sigmund is still in the picture even though we have at the moment 4 CB

Yeah, that has been lurking in the Queensland papers for a fortnight now (Dodd)...  should be interesting where this week takes us...

some on here have criticised Dodd, but i'd be ok with him staying - I wouldn't fault his attitude and in some ways he was thrown in the deep end last season, having to lead a fairly shakey back four

he could partner Durante, and mcKain could do a job in midfield

however, folks who know more about Ben Sigmund might persuade us that he'd be a better combination with durante  ..???

I hope Dodd stays. We don't really know how McKain (especially him) and Durante will turn out - or Sigmund.

Probably one of my favourite players at the nix. Him sending Kruse flying into the advertising boards is one of the best memories of the season.

I nominated that for the awards night 'moment of the season'.

I've avoided it because I remain to be convinced, unless we are doing a Knights and pinning our hopes on being a re-habilitation clinic for other teams crocks.

Also, Tarka is a Centre Back and we've currently got four on the books and a quote from the club saying another one is on their Radar (Siggy).

If Dodd went then I'd hope Siggy would be right back in the mix again

maybe it's some marketting guru's idea of branding

... the whole rising from the ashes treatment table thing

that might account for the club's move to beef up the medical/fitness staff, as seen it the recent job ads

If Dodd goes to GC Galaxy and is still contracted to us does that mean we would get a transfer fee or would we just let him out?

thats a good point.. surely if they want him this season they would have to pay a fee, considering i'm sure we would never release him, alos baring in mind a transfer fee has never been payed in the a-league i believe? therefore theyr either making history or waiting a year

That is what I was alluding to. A-league teams, I understand, are not allowed to pay transfer fees to one another. So the only way I can see this happening is Dodd being released from his contract somehow, unless unbeknown to us his contract actually expires this year.

I heard from a board member at South Melbourne (although they do hate the A-league), that a player can only be signed from a VPL club for no more $3,000. He also said O'dor signed to the Phoneix for this amount. He seemed to think this was the same for any player currntly playing in Australia (or the A-league i guess). It didn't seem right to me, just passing on what he said. I hope Dodd doesn't go, he's got a great attitude and works hard.

Pretty much right.

I believe Adelaide caught a game at the weekend as well, perhaps Richmond ?  Don't remember the other side.

Actually, we want a left-sided player... Shannon Cole.

Have you had a look Tony ?  He played NZFC for Waitak a season or so ago and the lads I know in Sydney think he's just the berries... Super Leo Right, Shannon Cole left and Daniel in the middle... here we go, here we go, here we go...
