Could be tricky getting him here. Aren't there regulations which stop you flying once you get past a certain age?

Deeeaaannnnnooo!!

yep, he's on the radar - though with each year he takes up a little more of the screen

he's 39 leeds chris

all bias aside, i'm not convinced he'd be the ideal replacement for smeltzy (he's more skillful, harder, but clearly lacks a yard of pace and might not be willing to put in a shift closing down the opposition back four)

i'd quite like to see him bump a few aussies over though

Has Joel Porter actually signed for GCU? Because if he hasn't we could do a Man City and get him from under GCU's noses.

Its no longer a problem.

Rumor has it that Coveny will return to Melbourne at the end of the season to either play in the VPL or take up a coaching role there.

I hope he does. He deserves something because he seems like a jolly nice bloke.

Why don't we just forget everything and get an aging, injured striker named Viduka. Sure he will probably want to chill in Melbourne but that hasn't stopped us before..................................................................................

kruse is one of the worst players to ever play in the league. He has very little skill, limited pace, and absolutely no strength.

Rubbish player.

He's right though.

Just say no to Kruse.

Porter is almost certainly done at Gold Coast, they are also talking like they have signed Jason Culina but sources in Holland say he will re-sign at PSV.  Questions should be answered later this week.

Culina as marquee, Porter within the cap.

Wolfben is right on Kruse.  Dadi is okay but too old.

Are they going to do to Porter what they did to Muscat by offering him a "coaching" postition to fit him in the salary cap?
Permalink Permalink

yeah thats a dodgy loop hole that one. You could in theory have 23 assistant coaches to get half the salary off the books.....

Yeah I also hear Queensland are going to do it with Moore. FFA need to fix this or we need to atleast start doing it

Who do we bring in then? Rufer? Hay?

They'd both fit in very nicely.

From the BBC.co.uk rumour mill and transfer gossip page.....

Striker Chris Killen has admitted he will need to leave Celtic in order to revive his stuttering career. (Daily Record)

A mate of mine worked the ticketing booth at Hibs. There is strong rumour of him going back there doing the rounds up in Edinburgh

^ Much more likely than him coming here. He'll came back when he's old and crippled.

I agree with Hay. Rufer would be a good assistant or coach but too old to play at a-league level, he struggled in the NSL, suppose he could stand in the middle third somewhere and put some genius balls through though.

I think i heard he is an assistant coach hence part of his salary isn't included in the cap. Same with the wrong Muscat

https://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/92322,fury-chasing-fowler--official.aspx If they get him it will be terrific for the league, highest profile signing in the leagues history by far (sorry Dwight).

He was going to sign for Cardiff before Rovers gave him a chance to play in the top flight again, I guess maybe after how badly he played for us, that they might not want him now. High profile yes, but if he does sign I dont think he will be banging them in for them.
