A couple of points regarding Friday....Ricki has conceded that brown and Siggy look a little flat after such a big month. Completely agree on that. What chance of starting mCain and getting Siggy on when mcCain runs out of steam?
As for Brown....i guess Diego did a reasonable job against the Jets. He could get some game time

Troy is the only real option as RB. no problems with his attack....he has speed and gets forward and is fast enough to turn and cover on defense. what does worry me is he is stil learning the positional requirements of RB. Last time he played there he was having problems keeping his lines with the other defenders....this is real important if you are using the offside trap regularly. He had a tendency to drift out of position.

No doubt they will work on this all week. one thing he will bring is lots of enthusiasm to the role. He has the speed and athleticism to be a good RB....he just needs to show he has the head for it. It will be a huge opportunity for him....if he does well then at this age he could tie that position down for ages. It would be great for the Nix too if he succeeds. We need more than we have been getting from our wingbacks

Hearfield's not a defender. Or a utility. He's an attacking player.

Mulligan for bench?

Nope, McKain defensive cover. Lia can also play defense.

My only 50/50 call would be maybe Diego on the bench to come on for Brown and McKain to come on for Siggy who's looking a bit flat.

seams to be right on the mark for me
Although McKain for right back any one ?

Probably doesn't have the pace for a wing back position (although neither does Manny).

^ No difference. Score the first goal against the Victory and its a different ballgame then if you let them score.

You are also a lot better side at the Caketin.

I reckon you could win 1-0.

Fabiano or no Fabiano, doubt he would have made a difference. He's nowhere near the calibre of Hernandez or Thompson.

Forgot about him.  Speaks for how much he did on Sunday.  Bertos start, Hearfield come on for him if need be and get Costa off the bench.

And to answer Simon Hampton, I originally put Gould on the bench for a bit of a laugh, but thinking about it I do wonder who I'd prefer.

Having just looked at the roster for work I discovered that I have work from 5.30pm until 11.30pm.  I'm very pissed off about that.  I have two options:
1. Call in sick and miss out on the money I could have earnt (that I need)
2. Call my manager (who is the man) and ask if I can have a two hour non-paid break to nip over to the TAB and watch the game.  This could be OK, but the other guy working with me ends at 9 and I'd have to convince him to keep working until 9.30 when I'd get back.

If anybody has any other brilliant ideas please let me know.  Recording the game isn't an option as we don't have a VHS and our DVD players HD somehow broke - add to that it's not the same if it's taped.

Flyers? I did not see such a thing. Where can one get some of these flyers to plaster around said parking buildings? :)

The real question here is: Are we going to boo Kruse?
Permalink Permalink

Kruse might escape being booed every time he touches the ball... if he gets an ironic cheer for a poor touch.

Just watched the replay of the melbourne GC game....melbourne look very very good. We will have to be at the top of our game if we are to get a result out of this one.

whats the record for A-League games undefeated at home?  We must be getting close to the record...what, are we now 13 games unbeaten.

Record is 14, which we will equal after the game on Friday.

Then onto 15...

They hate Kruse, so I reckon

MVFC 2 - 1 Nix
(Kruse 44, 89) (Ifil 80)

would pretty much cause a riot.
