Bertos, Costa, Manny and McKain were good value and gave a good account of themselves. Smeltz was wasteful at times, and a bit predictable. Defense relatively solid overall. Lochhead - was utter rubbish again. He was in no mans land for their goal and wasted half a dozen crosses. Set pieces were poor again. The goal was nicely constructed.

This year has been useful for finding the likes of McKain and Manny, and getting Brown entrenched into his role. Costa broughtabout a bit for direct play up front which was refreshing - hope he keeps it up.

I thought the ref was inconsistent and overall, soft. Seemed to blow evertime there was some contact.

Hey - you are hillarious. You really are. He was sh*te- again -  just like the last 3 weeks - you're obviously blinded by his tight red curls and zonal defending buddy.

It's just funny how you seem to absolutely hate his guts. He did some things poorly - crossing for one, making bad runs in the first half when going forward, etc - but he defended competently and didn't make any notable defensive errors.

Did he have a great game? No. Was he 'absolute rubbish'? Of course not.

What really clinches it for me (the fact that you're an idiot, in case you're wondering), is that you're blaming Lochead for the goal we conceded. I mean, the only way you say that is if he shagged your missus, or...well, I won't go there. But you get the general gist of it anyway.

Take a look at the goal and watch Dodd. Don't blame Lochhead. That's poor form blaming the wrong guy for the goal.

Yeah Lochhead was bad but no where near as bad as what you were thinking rob, are sure you were watching the right game?

Haven't watched the replays but Dodd got sucked out of the back four and left a huge gapping hole, seem to recall he was sucked out because our midfield had not picked up the runner?

Poor defending by midfield and Dodd and unless Lochead was telepathic and knew Dodd was going to charge out hard to see how he to blame.

Having said that Lochead did have another ordinary game.

Yes it was totally lack of midfield tracking that led to that goal, but can't remember who should have tracked. Don't blame the defence.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Take another look at it fellas. They played right around a static potion of our defense. Not the total blame for their goal - but a contributor along with whoever in midfield dropped off the attacking players.

Keeping this on football and away from your obsession with turning this into a Jerry Springer forum (EG), I expect more from Lochy than you lot. He's capable of much better than he's been playing this season and hasn't been doing himself justice. I agree we need another option in the squad for his position, if nothing else but to keep him on his toes.

I agree another option at left back would be valuable as Lochead has not played anywhere near his capabilities this year. He is under no pressure for his position and underperforming has no consequences.

However finding cover at left back when we also looking for at least 2 strikers an attacking midfielder and keeper will stretch the recruiting capabilities.

At the time of the goal I was wondering where Brown was actually playing in midfield as he seemed to be lost but not sure whether it was him missing in action for the goal or not?

Yep, he didn't cross well all game, but don't blame him for the goal or knock his high work rate. It just didn't all go right for him. He'll be knocking over 52,000 crosses in training this week I'm sure

OK, that was a reasonable post, so I'll keep it clean...Lochead has underperformed this season, particularly going forward. His crossing has been abysmal, and he's looked short on confidence of late. He's defended competenetly most of the season, although he had a few clangers, but nothing more than the rest of our defensive line.
Is he capable of better? Yes, he showed it last season. Is this really a weak link in our line-up? Potentially, but it's not the main problem right now. As long as he's defending OK, it's not a huge area of concern. We have to get things right at the other end of the park (strikers, attacking mid) before worrying about bringing in another genuine left back (who are pretty rare at the best of times). So no need to panic with him right now, make him keep working and hopefully get his confidence back so he can be the player we all know he can be.

Watching the replay, Sigmund and Muscat both got drawn to one defender. In hindsight Dodd should have stayed marking Reid and Sigmund would have had to be the one to try and close down T.Dodd (ideally a midfielder should have close this space down already). Also, Sigmund and Muscat both didnt hold an offside line and dropped with the player they were marking putting Reid onside, difficult to stay disciplined in those tight situations.

Points taken. I get frustrated when he jogs back into position with what looks like without a care in the world after skying a cross over the crossbar. Enuff on the lad anyway - hopefully he'll be his old self next year.

No disrespect mate but I don't actually give a f**k about Adelaide, as I'm sure you wouldn't about us if the positions were reversed.

We'll be winning for US, after that, as far as you're concerned, everything else is gravy!

Yeah why the hell do Sydney get all the media even when they are doing sh*te, tis not rite

I do think you should have beaten us, with 10 men that was a top effort. Having said that we played sh*te, had no striker on the bench, and cassio was watching his wife give birth.

Maybe a silly question  but is Manny Muscat related to that pedo queerboy from melbourne?

full respect to Adelaide for their season and for letting Diego come to the 'Nix...
