Why dont they just charter one.

Actually one of the Perth supporters put a fair amount of time and effort in to looking at a charter - needed a decent number of people to shell out about a $1,000 each - looks like he couldn't get enough on board to make it happen butgood on him for giving it a crack.

Your right a guy went to alot of trouble to get a charter together though just wasnt enough time as would have had to get flyers out and as you say costing $1000 for a one night stopover just wasnt feasible and work committments didnt help. Also some of the guys are without a passport so that doesnt help either.
Think I have about 6 on my flight over Sat and unsure if any people from the eastern states will possible head across!!
As you mentioned always good if there is a few in the away section just for a bit of banter really.......
We always have a few Kiwis at the game in Perth mostly expats.
Really looking forward to the game although your home record is slightly better than ours this season, our problem is form on the road.Being a final I suppose anything can happen!!

Got my tickets today in my regular season ticket possies, the last time I got so pumped about a game was the All Whites last year.  I bought tickets for that game well in advance and I have the same vibes about this one..I think it will be over 20K and it wouldn't surprise me if it took off to the extent it was a sellout...freaking magic if it was....it's11.30pm and I can't sleep thinking about it....I think the crowd will make the difference to the end result...hope any Perth fans have a great time and feel really welcome, just as long as your team doesn't do the business...it will be close...hope Daniel gets a start, he took off like a rocket from that dozy CCM free kick intercept

I think they meant direct flight to New Zealand. Air New Zealand does a direct flight Perth - Auckland...

Looking forward to gameday, 5,300 is not a bad first day sales.

Also a big crowd shows a big two finger salute to the AFC who done wants Wellington in the A league.FFA must stand firm on this issue and even more now you have made the finals.
Even if there are only a few of us Gloryboys on show still going to be a cracking game......Dont mean this in a mean way though can Ifill possibly get injured early on!!!

Waino, you are too nice...

Need one of our players to do a fair bone crunching tackle onto Ifill.

I can't wait till gameday!

Says on Stuff that 2,500 tickets were sold yesterday. I think people might be quite a bit off trusting these PAX numbers as sales numbers.

You Perth fans are magic...no need for any of that nasty stuff..we will take Ifill off just to keep you happy....probably after his second or third goal

TAB are paying $8.50 for Nix to win the grand final, Betfair showing $12 odds for same.
(this info is provided free to the Phoenix supporters, if you aren't a Phoenix fan please pretend you didn't read it, or bet with the TAB ...."you know the odds, now beat them")

Thats got to be our main worry as Ifill can produce that one bit of magic that turns a game.We have Shroj who on his game can produce the goods just a bit too lazy!!!
Always thought Ricky herbert was a top coach wonder if we can ditch mitch and pay over the odds to bring him to a warmer climate!!

Srhoj. Geez, you're a Perth fan, and can't spell the name of your own player.

Perth have always connected via Melbourne, ive been on the flight with them to Melb. a number of times.  Probably little difference in overall flight time between stopping in Melbourne or Dorkland.

Was in the club shop just after lunch.  Guy there reckons about 8,000 sold so far.  They were hoping to do 5-6,000 to members.  Not sure if he really knows or was just guessing but I didn't get my usual seats in Aisle 23 - gone already!

Rumour is Hurricanes and Nix will be doing a cross-promotion on Friday. Not exactly sure what it is yet.

Has something to do with Air New Zealand not being FFA sponsors.

Flying via Melbourne is the quickest way to Wellington, as Perth - Sydney is about 45 mins longer than Perth - Melbourne.

I know plenty who are coming on Sunday. A few bandwagoners, a few coming up after experiencing the Christchurch game, and a few others who are fair weather that are hugely pumped for the game. Can't wait!

Not sure what a football family is, but this arvo, via the local Ticketek here in ChCh, I purchased  tickets  for a mate and myself. Aisle 21,row B.

Hopefully that means lots of singing, chanting and drinks. Can't wait. 5 more sleeps!

I don't arrive till mid Sunday arvo. What time do most people leave the Backbencher to go to the game??

16:30 usually.  Might be a bit messy this week, Hilton-Petone pre-season tournament and the National Youth League will take a few people out of the pre-game crowd.

The ticket I bought at bout 5:40 over the phone had a PAX # of 6373. Seemed to me that as long as you quoted your membership number you could pick up more tickets cause I had already bought 4 yesterday.  Am getting a LITTLE bit nervous and ridiculously excited, so excited I'm making a post!!

Lets hope for 20K. If the weather is meant to be beautiful--- does that mean above 12 degrees?

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Combined bash with the Hurricanes at Midland Park on Friday at 13:00 I believe.

Let's try and get lots of Phoenix and Fever there to support both sides... and get the Phoenix brand out there.

How's my driving? - Whine here
