Ugly weather, late kick off, school night. Hope plenty brave it and it's not empty.
Plus if we're up with 10 to go there may be quite a few with hypothermia

If we're up by six then it'll be pants off for me (happened in the Gold Coast game, a wee policy of mine).  Long story but was a bit of a laugh.

Whole Newcastle squad ambled past down Customhouse Quay towards the stadium. Was gonna smash them.

That would be an 'inadequate' word to describe it if such a manoeuvre was repeated tonight!

Shrinkinage?  I think not.  Physically impossible to get any smaller.

That was a joke ladies, a joke.

When it got to three nil, me and two mates of mine watching agreed that if we got six we'd take off everything bar our boxers (not thinking it would happen at all) then Hearfield scores and for the rest of the game we're sitting there in minimal clothing looking like complete retards.  Laughs were had, though.

Gawd. and it looks like the weather is gonna get even worse by game time. Not sure that helps us or not... will make passes hard work.
Maybe the jets wont be able to land ;-)

yip wrap up warm too mate. Gonna be cold and wet. Hearfield usually seems to step it up against the Jets from memory so hoping he can super sub us to victory

This is the start of a huge weekend for us. Two home games for us, and we have been unbeatable for what, 10 games at home now?

Newcastle are a decent side, playing some good football. That said, it is one we can beat, especially at home.

Playing so quickly after the horror show on Sunday at the SFS can be interpreted as a good thing - a chance to redeem ourselves fast after reaching another nadir.

We're used to poor weather, so I guess it won't hurt...though it could be somewhat of a leveller. It sure won't help the crowd, I just hope it's a decent one in the range of 7000+

Win tonight, and we move into 6th place again.

Then if we beat Perth on Sunday, we leapfrog them and perhaps CCM into 4th. They are in disarray at the moment after a bright start. We'll worry about them after tonight, but it's a big week for us. A big chance for us to be sitting in the top 6 heading into the second-half of the season.

Would love to see our AWs performing well across the board, as being in form for next Saturday won't hurt!

For al those out of towners coming in check out

Click on the web cam picture.....it rotates through 180 degrees and shows the stadium area.......doesn't look too bad. wind 30km  overcast but not wet

Agree this is a biggy!  3 points a must against the bottom team. nearly half way through the season a win puts us in 6th with a good goal difference

We've got the wind, the rain and the fever...

If you could wind that weather up to a howling gale, cold as hell, with rain turning to sleet... it would be ideal for the World Cup clash. What I'd call a 'strong home advantage'!

(Confession: I'm a local  boy who has the sense to live in Auckland, but still loves the Nix.) :)

Bridges is definately the danger man for me. Has been way more impressive in his stint so far with the Jets than he was at Sydney.

Still no significant rain in the city... but I'd still be prepared for it. Hope it doesnt keep people away.

I'm pumped for it. And i'm sure there is some way to stop a football match for you to get there. Thinking Time Paradox..

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

totally agree. Keep a clean sheet, and an early goal to us and we'll be away. Hit them hard on the counter attack and push wide when Elrich has moved up to much. We can do it.

Generally if you keep a clean sheet and get a goal it doesnt matter what else you do.

It'll be interesting to see how our "eccentric" Crowther will fare in the wind.

Agreed.

Haliti and Bridges work together nicely which will be hard to defend against but putting multiple goals past the Jets is very possible especially if Ljubo doesn't play.

hopefully Crowther will be a bit more assured at home, has been thrown in to a couple of touch situations to date
