Scholes scored it alright ill get the Youtube for you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJX2eNmFG3U You can try look for a better quality one if you want.

You should watch that again WPF. Don't need better quality, just to watch it with both eyes.

Scoring = yellow
Stopping = red.

What did the referee do.....

Wth are you sure, terrible game for the ref hopefully he gets suspended. Great noise you guys made at the game aswell

Yeah, full credit on the noise.

Ben Williams is rubbish, and a disgrace whenever he refs us (despite getting two vital calls right).

Oh yes sorry I just remember seeing it on the news and it only showed the ref pulling out the red.

Scholes got a yellow which was obviously his second yellow as the ref then produces a red....and the onscreen graphic shows two yellows and converts them to a red......

Pretty clear to me......

im pretty sure these refs would be better if they were paid full time (im pretty sure they have two jobs) also what was the drop ball for after bertoses corner because i couldnt see what we did wrong
I think it was for that header the player took after it was taken though you are right about it being a part-time job. Can someone tell me the difference between Paul Scholes recent red for his hand ball and McFlynns?

Scholes was a yellow

If you thought Ben Williams was bad (and he is), try watching the Perth v Melbourne game. Just about every decision given in the first half was the wrong one. Then it seems ref and assistant weren't on the same songsheet when it cme to time added on at the end of the half. Terrible standard of officiating. Unacceptable.

90 minutes. 90 dodgy referee decisions
Permalink Permalink

Well 90 minutes, 90 emotions is also a very good slogan for unintented reasons however.

I don't know what sort of accountability the officials have in the A-League, but some of the decisions have been really really awful, and I don't know how some of them can be justified. I figured a professional football league would include a higher degree of competence amongst the officials. I'm not convinced by any means yet.

Well I am guessing Tony P can make a complaint and I hope he will.

What about ?

They two key decisions were right, the lack of a penalty on two occasions was  questionable but nothing he'd get censured for, inequality of cards, unlikely to be any result.

I didn't say I expected him to just that I hope he would, has any ref ever even been suspended anyway?

Hearfield can only blame himself. I don't think Ben Williams had a choice. It was technically a straight red for retaliation. Hard to argue it I think.

I'd quantify the officiating like this.

1: They lost Shield. 1 of the top 10 in the world.
2: The dude Pryzdacs retired. Another good one.
3: Peter Green - another good ref hasn't been seen much of.
4: in trying to blood new refs, the likes of Chris Beath and Streb delovski are getting used. Not the most experienced.
5: Ben Williams is always going to be Ben Williams. He has been better this year on the whole than other times. Maybe ACL experience helps.

He's only been better because he hasn't reffed us.

NZFC refs are a bit Meh, the best is Peter O'Leary and currently he's probably also the best ref in the A-League as well.

I can think of a couple of NZFC ones who are just dreadful.

it can't be as hard for the officials in the a-league as it is in, say, the english premier league, where the pace of the game is so much quicker. so how come so many decisions are so poor here at this level?

Nothing of note, just offering opinions and being a functioning member of the New Zealand football community.

I think he posted the other day actually.

Oh ok so he didn't get suspended for saying anything bad then?
Permalink Permalink

No, the powers that be just decided that as a referee he wasn't allowed to have opinions so he got suspended by them.

.... sh*t.

Had money on a win.

Good plays, just not good enough. Frustrated Kwasta got a hammy. But oh well, Adelaide don't have a spectacular away record? Am I correct?

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Delovski is the best ref in the league. Lets the game flow.
