Ahmad El**ch left the field with what was suspected to be a season-ending knee injury.

I heard that Brumby's are running their famous 2 for 1 offer so he's staying back for that... just quietly.

It's a terrible injury, the kind of injury which may well end the man's career. No matter how slow and lazy he was on this side of the ditch, he doesn't deserve a trashy comment like that.

tis a shame that he may well have ended his career with this injury. I was suprised he came off, didn't seem to be anything serious that occured at all.

Queenslander 3x a year.

I felt like that when Lia came off, look what happened there.

My main concern is the undermining all the work me and friends put into Got Pie? signs for the match.

No footballer deserves these sort of injuries, but sadly they happen.
You know we belong together...

Even after all he didn't do for us last season - its a shame he suffered a season ending injury like this....I have done my ACL before and its not a very nice one.

Hope he recovers and is able to play again next season, wish him all the best for a full recovery (and a pie or two)....

Poor bugger, never like to see any player injured for long periods.

Surely  the "Got Pie" signs could also apply to Mark Bosnich...or perhaps "Got Crack"?

Bosnich looks gay when he celebrated at the end of the match

Poor bastard. I think that might be him gone for good. He seems to be in bit of a vicious cycle: Get injured -> Lose fitness -> gain weight ->look for new team etc. Is he on a 1 or 2 year contract?

I got the feeling he was gonna turn up in Wellington and smoke a goal just as pay back for the ribbing he get on here...guess we'll never know now.

New's blocking of El**ch means the link doesn't work - here's the article

Central Coast Mariners midfielder Ahmad El**ch will miss at least six months of football after scans confirmed a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

El**ch was forced off the field after only 12 minutes during the Mariners 4-2 defeat of Queensland Roar last Sunday. He will undergo knee reconstuctive surgery next week and return to light training almost immediately on an accelerated rehabilitation program.

El**ch should make a return to the field by early to mid-2009, possibly in time for the Mariners AFC Champions League group stage matches.

Personally, its obviously a devastating blow for me, especially considering how fit I was feeling and how much progress I had made throughout the pre-season and the early part of the Hyundai A-League season, said El**ch.

However, its good that I know exactly what Im dealing with as Ive been through this exact procedure before and Ive come back from it  I know that Ill come back again.

Six months, well I wonder if he will ever be able to be at his best touch ever again with such injuries.
