I just wish Durante wouldn't boot away possession so carelessly. For a long time I thought his critics were making too much of this, but it's true, he is inclined to lose patience and whack it aimlessly up field.
 
But apart from that he was pretty good and got better as the game went on (as did all of the big four for that matter).

Completely agree, if he's under a little pressure, Andrew boots it without a second thought, gives away a fair few corners and attacking throws. If he's not under pressure, he lumps it towards the front men, very rarely comes off.

I think last year Dodd took a lot of blame for Durrante's long balls.  I remember (maybe with rose tinted glasses) Dodd playing the ball on the deck up the middle a lot more than Durrante ever did.  Don't think we really have to many other options though, and apart from 1 or 2 glaring errors a game this season he has been defending very well.

Cool.  We can all stop blaming the midfield now it's there's a theory that Durante's hoofing the ball over them all day

There was one corner in the 2nd half he gave away that was a total joke. He was right on the touchline, and without even looking, he just booted it out for a corner when he actually had enough time to control it, turn, and play it up the park! At the very least he could've swung his leg round a bit and put it out for a throw.
 
It was the most casual giving away of a corner I think I've ever seen.

best game Durante has had for a while....Im curious to see on the current team showing if there is a place for Tim brown given that they seem more cohesive without him and without two defensive midfielders seem to be a more attacking unit..................

I remember that, and think you're a bit harsh on him there. He got to the ball facing the goal line in the box, and unless you get clear instructions from your teammates that you have time and can turn, you don't piss around with it in that situation. He simply didn't know he had the time, and that's not his fault.

A brief glance over the shoulder would've told him exactly where everyone was! Fair enough if nobody shouted as well, but I think he could've done better. Like I say, he could've battered it out for a throw-in if he wanted to deal with it quickly.
 
Nobody I was watching the game with could believe it either.

To counter balance my Durrante hate from above, I agree with El G here.  Ball coming in awkwardly with back to the field like that, unless you get told something you put it away.  Even a quick glance over the shoulder can miss an attacking player, and turning into trouble there could have been a disaster.

I just thought he was a million times better than the Newcastle game. He seemed to be thinking with the ball when he had possession and really take it on himself to get things going later in the game. Much more the captain.
 
I didn't watch the defensive unit that closely, but Brisbane seemed to have hardly any good chances in the second half.

I agree, unless there was a clear call that he had time he did the right thing. The first goal came in a blink from the little guy getting around him on his blind side.
