Well, a mixed performance, but enough on the night, and also following a tough week, travel, suspensions, Halberg icebergs.... Awesome result, thanks guys.

OLeary 8 My major worry, but did well
Vuko 7.5 Hardly in the game - a good thing - took his pen superbly
Troy 7 Another good game and a couple of spot on crosses. Marco should have scored!
Siggy 7.5 Strong and solid, and should have scored too
North 7 Much sounder than on Wed
Lochie 7 Good runs, defended well when needed
Manny 8 The glue holding it all together
Timmy 6 Did well enough
Marco 7 Got caught a few times tonight, won't do him any harm, unlucky
Wardy 6 Solid game
Greenie 7.5 Set the scene with an excellent finish
DMac 7 Another good goal
Daniel 6 Did his job
Pavlov 6 Um... won the pen, but why didn't he just stick it in the net??

What do you think??

Pav being on for like three minutes and not scoring when he should've. instead he just hoped like hell it was a penalty. does not deserve the same rating as Nick Ward

muscat a 9 for me. seriously what a difference he makes when he plays

I personally think Muscat was good, brown had a lot of wayward passes.

But as a combo, they didnt own that middle of the park at all. Usually manny playd CDM in a midfield three, but with just browny, there were quite a few holes.

I'd knock WArdy up to 7.5. I thought his workrate tonight was significantly better than usual.

I think Ward generally has a good work-rate. Has a bit of skill and creativity, really need to keep hold of him.

The only reason I didn't rate Wardy higher, was that his job tonight was to provide good balls in for the front two and he didn't do much of that. When he was center mid against Sydney he did that job really well.

Vuko 11 just for that penalty. I'm still coming down from it!

Just watch Nicky play (best on TV). His passion and commitment shine out (like Manny)- he just needs to develop his skill levels a little and get properly glued into the squad. I REALLY hope he stays.....

D Mac had one of his best games, I'd give him an 8

Manny is a bit  like Lockhead-don't realise how important he is to the balance of the side until he's not there.
WArd - sure he's got some skill and creativity but he gives the ball away a hell of a lot
with either a poor first touch or crap pass. If he can get that sorted then I'd love to see him stay but ...
Pavlovic- have never seen what others do in him.Sure , he's quick but can't finish.I don't think I've seen him score .

Yeh I wanted Wardy in the centre much earlier, and Daniel on...Brown wasn't dominating the mids...and Ward's distribtution against Sydney was really good. We weren't playing football, we were playing hit and hope otherwise...

Wardy played real good...very positive and direct. But we were playing to much "wack itforward and hope"

Marcos has, in the last couple of games, learned the reality of pro football. He got smashed a few times early in the game. He coped well and did some good things but he has/will learn that flair players like him will become targets. Most defenders will chop him rather than let him run past. He now is no longer an "unknown". Teams will devise tactics to combat him...just as the Fury did.....putting two onto him....one shallow and one deep.

He needs to be playing with a skillful creative midfielder who will realise him when he makes a run forward.....too often he is given the ball in a static situation and has to make something from a standing start.

He has the skills  and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I like the way he choses when to take on his man....he mixes up his play quite well.

Still think he needs another year in the A-League before trying overseas.

If we werent to sign another gun striker, I would ideally want to see Wardy in center midfield with a front three of: Ifill, Marco, and DMac/(new mint striker).

Ward has the ability to beat a man, and provide for others. Very similar output to Marco really but with a different approach without speed.
