A very good result against a pretty good team....
Pasty 7 Not called on much, but a good save, a pood punch and a good take that kept Heart quiet
Manny 8.5 Did very well against a tough opponent, got beat a few times, but did the same to him, great assist for Ifill, extra .5 for coming back for the game
Dura 6.5 Mostly good, header cleared off line
Siggy 7.5 The monster, trying to impress by dancing his way into their box as well
Lochie 6 Seemed as though he had nothing to do in th second half
Smith 7.5 Ultra dependable, love the way he doesn't do the showy thing
Timmy 6 Tried hard, but nothing really fell for him
Dani 6 Ditto
Leo 8 A couple of good bits of defence, awesome cross for Greenies header, lets hope the injury (he took it for the team) isn't a bad one
Ifill 8 He knows how to finish, some great cross balls too.
Greenie 7 What a header, gave him little chance of getting to that ahead of the defenders and the keeper
Daniel 7 Not much opportunity, but what a belter of a free kick that almost snapped the post

Im gonna call them all the same today, cos I thought it was a great all round team effort.
Ifill showed quite a few moments of class, Bertos and Greenacre a couple of class moments, but it was the team that stood out today. They certainly shook the heart off their game.
So pleased it happened in front of 13,500 fans as well.

Reckon those ratings are about right, but I agree that today was a real team performance.

The way Leo put his body on the line for that challenge summed up the heart that has been lacking from his game recently. What an assist!

Smith is a great holding midfielder. Directs play and makes quality challenges. Fits into our system nicely.

Great work from Ifill and Greeny for the goals. Nice to see hour strikers knocking in their chances.

Gonna be hard to break into our squad now for the likes of Ward, Lia etc. Unless Bertos in injured, and in that case I would hope for Daniel to get another shot.

Agree OOE on your Manny call.Given his thoughts must have been back in Melbourne. He seems to turn up every game and i just love his never give up attitude when he gets beaten by an opposition player. Its about time we had a decent chant for him.Give me a team of Mannys any day.Looked like he was hungry to score again.

Lochy has to be bumped up a few...went around 15 players only to have a sight on goal and smash it three cross bars high!

Has he scored for the 'Nix?

Was a great team effort, which is usually the case when we win.

Bertos started to show some signs that the real Leo Bertos might still be trapped inside, but it was by far an outstanding performance. Not a sh*t one though.

Siggy and Dura solid at the back, but went to sleep with the goal, looked like Siggy was still on attack, and Dura had his one shocking mistimed tackle attempt for the season at the wrong time.

Manny. You're a f**king legend. Nuff said.

Smith massive in the middle, oh how I wish Brown played like that. Massive in the air, and great touches.

I think the Sanchez / Brown positioning was stoopid. The fact the Sanchez had to be put to the wing so Brown could play as our 3rd Striker.. oops, i mean 'play in midfield' was a wrong, Sanchez is by far better in that position, and I think it reflected in their performances.

Lochy a bit messy on the left, but had a solid game. We have no-one better at the mo, but I also realise we really notice it when he's not there (like last season).

Was a great game to watch. Was a great win. But we've got to be more dominant in the midfield if we're going to keep the hold on 2nd.

Pretty close to my thoughts.  I might put Lochie up a notch or two though, because he shut down the left really effectively and went on a couple of good attacking runs.  And perhaps Dani up a little too.  He didn't have much chance to do anything flashy, and he was often left without much support but still managed to hold onto the ball and get a pass away despite heavy attention from Heart.

I also thought Leo was near his best.  It was brilliant to see him run past defenders again, and he was hugely dedicated and effective in defense.

Great game all round really.  My only disappointment was not seeing Lindsay on the park.

manny's effort even more impressive when you realise he arrive in Wellington 1 hour before kick off! Not only does that performance show how professional he is but the dedication to the team almost exceeds Daniel's commitment to the club.

I would rather sanchez in the middle and Daniel out wide.

So either drop Brown or greeny imo. Although that depends on if Leo is fit

Spot on - I thought they both had, relatively speaking, quiet games. Sanchez because he was out of position and Brown .........

That's Herbert's dilemma - he wants to play both Sanchez and Brown but I don't see how you can, with both Ifill and Greeny starting, without pushing one or other out of position.

Nice to have these challenges after banking a great 3 - 1 win against a very good team !

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

A good effort todya by Leo..not sure he was worth an 8 but certainly one of his better games this campaign.
Manny was excellent despite all the rushing to get him to the game and appearing initially that the heart were targetting his position with the long ball.
Smith was very dependable today, good touch on the ball, could od a real job for us in this position as he can surge forwardand attack when needed.
Not convinced by Dani playing wider

Thought Brown has actually been a bit better over the last couple of games, 6 is about right. Just seems to be covering more ground and working harder. Overall I thought it was a good team effort continuing with the strong second half performances. Need to stop turning over so much ball with cheap offsides though.

Thought a rating of 6 for Sanchez was a little harsh. He played some great balls to create space several times but we didn't always captialise on it. faded in the second half again though. Smith was epic - its good to have a big man in the centre of the park if the opposition keeper is gonna hoof it long every time too

Sometimes I swear people watch a different game than me.... Leo an 8??? Yes he beat 1 player and whhipped in a good cross for Greenie, apparently after being given a bit of a rev up by Ricki at half time about being a winger and that bing his job. (Heard the comment on Radio last night when someone was interviewing Siggy).

First half Leo looked unwilling to have a go at his marker, so often turning the ball back to brown or Manny. Obviously he can't take on his defender every time, but when he receives the ball in the opposition half thirty yards out with no one behind the defender, i just wish he would knock it past him and pin his ffing ears back.

Second half he was greatly improved in my view, both defensively and obviously on attack. I think he also actually won two headers!!! Hopefully his injury is not too bad and he will be back soon and we can see his second half performance repeated.

I have not had the chance to see the game on the box yet, bar a few highlights but those are my thoughts on his performance at the game, so I would tend to give him a 7

I sort of lol'd a bit at your indignation of Leo recieving a rating of 8, and then after all is said and done you rated Leo a 7 yourself.

I think you'll find that it was Ifill that he crossed to...

Anyway, in addition to Leo finding his mojo zorro again, I'm also loving Manny and Lochhead getting forward - wing backs FTW!
