Manny, solid? Maybe if you had your eyes closed for the first five minutes. The fact that Greenacre shadowed a ball over our goal line really says it all about our defence.

I think the defense is the least of our worries... ten goals conceded in ten games, third on that stat behind CCM and Roar on 8 and 9 respectively. While not always pretty, defensively we are pretty effective

defensi is doing it's job, 1 per game is pretty good...its at the attacking part we need to secure, this for begins in the midfield - we currently rely on Brown and lia to drive the middle - one goes missing far too regularly the other has the touch of an elephant, how can Sanchez, Ifill, greenie be expected to score goals when the likes of Bertos, broan and Lia can't keep the ball long enough to get it into the attacking areas. Satsistcally we also get a lot of balls intot he penalty box, but we only ever have 1 on no players there to receive them. The likes of Brown should be in there regularly.

I think that`s the strongest part of his game "driving into the box"
That reflects on the amount of goals he has scored. Aside from the one last week most have been close range.
Now if we start talking about his pin point passing thats another story

Well, I think since we have signed Sanchez and Manny has been playing at RB, Brown has been playing deeper than the past couple of seasons and might not have as much freedom to get into the box. We also rely on him more as midfielder to link defence to attack, which I think there are others in the squad more adept at this.

I thought Lia had a really good first half, I don't think he turned over possession once and passed the ball really well. Miller and Hughes were starting to put more pressure on him as the game went on, basically take Lia out of the game and our defence can only go long or down the line.

If we are going to rely on Brown getting into the box, IMHO, we will need to have someone next to Lia to allow Brown to stay further forward. Or, what I would like to see, a better distributor of the ball than Brown alongside Lia.

That better distibutor of the ball could be Muscat - wasted at right back?

I agree with this.

I also agree that Manny is better in the destroying role so we need someone else to fill the RB slot.

Agreed our attack is like a John Wayne film in the 70's. I mean you respect the guy, he's tough but quite frankly he's f*cked.

We need some serious new blood.

some of the aforementioned are possibly a luxury that we cant afford and there is a need for a more consistent performers
