Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

A good second half after disjointed patches in first half.

Pasty 5.5 Some good saves and punches, got off line well, but a couple of dodgy moments that he was lucky to escape with
Manny 8.5 Great goal, menacing runs, defended well
Siggy 7 Another top game
Dura 6 Rare to see a couple of mistakes, still sound though
Lochy 6.5 Provided a good option
Smith 6.5 Solid
Timmy 6 Good to see the silly fouls have been much less lately
Ward 5.5 Mostly good but gave the ball away several times
Ifill 7.5 Very quiet first half, but some great passing / crosses in second
Sanchez 5 Disappointing to see so many misses, you could see his own disappointment too
Greenie 6 Linking well
Leo 6 Did the job

What do you think??

Would give Pasty at least a 6 or 6.5. He was a little slow off the mark once or twice and if I remember rightly there was at least one save where he should have held on to it instead of deflecting it for a corner. However, he still made the saves that mattered, kept a clean sheet, and as opposed to last week did not Manny 'get-out-of-jail-free' Muscat to save his blushes.

You on nickname bases now? I would give PASTON a 3. He's terrible and should be a professional football player.

would also bump pasty up to 6.5, maybe 7
ward just a 5, wasn't his best
ifill more like 6.5/7 and only above most because of the precision pass for the goal, still having pretty ordinary games imho
daniel a 10 for copping that 1min for his 100th game without any fuss
don't think sanchez looks so good playing in that wider position and tho' he missed a couple he did get into the right spots to get on the end of the chances

In fact, Paston saved Muscat's blushes in the first half with a good save after a terrible "clearance".

Oh, wait, that's heresy, god doesn't make mistakes!

+1

When all is said and done and Oi Oi does the all time career ratings for each player, this has to be the logic behind daniel's. The man is a legend.

Sorry, you're new and I realise you might not know the nickname rules?

For players, we like to remove the last syllable and replace it with a y. For fellow forum members the general trend is to take random letters from the person's name to try to take a word. Preferably the 4th letter, followed by the 11th, followed by the 1st, followed by the 7th.

That's why I'm usually wxSY, and you're a c**t

Paston at least 6. Probably 6.5. Are you comparing him to the league average goalkeeper, or Ryan / galekovic? If you look at some of the games Warner has got a 6 for...
Sanchez >Bertos, Even with misses.
ward started well but the ball seemed to be slipping away from him.
Greenie>Bertos
Dura>Bertos
Timmy>Bertos
Not that Bertos was horrible, would just shift half a point for some of them.
Downey, did he play?
Ricki - credit for the wins, that's all that matters really, but Daniel's two minutes really upset me for a bit. Desrved a chance to touch the ball 100th game has nothing to do with it, 5 assists 2 goals in 750ish minutes of play time.CloneMM2012-01-22 01:56:49

I can't disagree too much from that although I would drop Paston to a 5 and swap the marks for Smith and Brown.

I think last night I saw the reason why Warner kept Paston out. There is not much between them but Paston at times seemed a little casual. It was a little scary. Don't get me wrong, I am all for Paston starting but I think I understand the reasons why Warner started for a while.

Smith is a good ball player in the wrong half of the field. The amount of time he got possession and passed it back to Dura or Siggy was amazing. I would think considering his skill set, he should be the one to get it going forward, not the 2 CB's

Smith really passes well off both feet and he is a busy player.....him and Brown together were a lot better. Not sure I want lia back next week

Sanchez has lost his confidence a bit....he looks unsettled which is not surprising coz he has been shuffled around quite a bit. He played this game wide left and started the previous game as a central striker. IMO he is better left as an attacking mid just behind Greenie or Ifill with Daniel on the field as well. He will have to adjust coz Rickie likes to have two wide guys on attack and does not really play a style that suits a proper playmaking attacking mid.

Our back 4 are just amazing....second best defense in the league.

I think they're best defense (defensively), we just have a good, sometimes terrible, midfield. Unlike CCM and Bris who have a great midfield. CloneMM2012-01-23 00:58:04
