Hard to get enthusiastic when a nasty deflection costs us, but I gies there were some good performances there, according to the game plan.
Vuko 7 was sound, such a shame he was wrong footed by Dura's touch
Troy 5.5 REasonable game
Siggy 7 Good last ditch tackles, and a brilliant overlapping run
Dura 7 Unlucky, had a good game
Lochie 6 mostly sound, though annoyed me when he didn't chase a man back
Lia 7 Did well out there
Timmy 5 Robbed of ball, missed a good header chance
Manny 6.5 Tackled well, held shape well, great long shot
Daniel 5.5 Crosses mostly far to high and loopy - watch Marco, always seems to stop when he receives the ball
Mac 7 Did his job very well, a shame his shot didn't get a deflection
Greenie 5.5 Anonymous for a lot of the game, but so close to scoring with that header
Ward 5 robbed of the ball for the goal
Pavlov 5 got on the ball well, thats about it
Marco late on
What do you think??

probably mark Daniel down 5.5 was too good for this display and Pav was awful probably worth a 2

Pretty fair marks all round. I was amazed we hung in there so long. For example after about an hour I thought Lia was totally buggered but somehow he found a second wind. Very stout stuff from just about all of them.
Like Oi Oi I was not happy to see Ward cough that ball up and then fail to show the mongrel necessary to get it back. It's a weakness in his game that has cost us a few times now.

interesting to see 4-4-2 in use and timmo playing deeper
I'd like to see that used in our remaining 2 away games

agreed tigers, we held that shape very well.

agree with the ratings, we played rally well and were robbed by qa lucky deflection and at that point it didn't matter.....we were a little wasteful in front of goal - pav in particular has no decision making ability, he shot twice when a pass to a guy in better position would have had us at least 1 up. that would have made it a different game.

This. We only need a point from our away games.

You have to be kidding.....Greenacre a 3 from me, just because he did a lot of running.

Too old, too slow. He did ZERO all game apart from missing a clear heading chance. He's suppose to be a striker who does well playing alongside another big striker. His attacking imput was totally missing. I'm sick of people making excuses for this guy, saying he puts himself about etc. He is there to put defenses under pressure. He's too small to win the ball in the air and he's too slow to to go past defenders.
Last night we played a 442 with Daniel and Lia wide and Dmac and Greenie upfront. This must be the slowest attacking group in the A-League. The Roar had speed to burn upfront and we lived of attacking scraps. Rojas and Ward have pace....until we get rid of some of the old slow deadwood we will struggle.

He was playing far deeper than he normally does and I think he did a pretty good job of making sure the Roar didn't just run the ball out of defense like they normally do. Saying he did ZERO all game is way off the mark, DMac the striker up top and Greenie was doing the job of winning and holding possession in the midfield between Dmac and Lia/Brown/Muscat who were camped in our half parking the bus. Sure he missed the header, but he got one last game.
As for Daniel, f*ck knows what he was doing. I'm afraid to say it but he is well past it.

agreed we were really only playing 1 up front on attack - Greenie was more in a aentral forward position as opposed to an out and out striker.

The only good thing Pav did was to make a run to collect a through ball.
Was really annoyed when Greenie came off. Pav didn't hold up the ball, attempted to play basketball twice, and in fact the goal came shortly after he turned over possession.
Daniel did a great job defensively compared to Ward, who stuffed up on the edge of the box for that goal. Ward is good, but...needs to score more than his defensive errors...

Yup because you know a player's level of fitness better than someone that trains him every day.

..and its not just about "resting" him, I suspect having him kicked the sh*t out of in one game a week is preferable to two games, particularly as we have our most important game of the season so far coming up this weekend.
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

It's a weakness in his game that has cost us a few times now.
yep. on the edge of the box. ok if he's attacking, but in defence...For all those Daniel knockers the score was at 0-0 when he went off...
