Great game again

Paston 7 - Didn't do too much wrong, and gave flores a slap
Siggy 9.5 - Assist, goal, attacking runs. Amazing
North 6.5 - Solid again, building another understanding with Dura
Durante 8 - Great at the back, and pushed forward for the goal.
Hearfield 6 - Got forward well, didnt threaten too much. But solid
Muscat 8 - Kept Flores out of the game for long periods and reliable again
Lia 6 - attacked but still not sure with possession
Brown 7 - Good goal. Got forward great second half, should have had more
Ward 7 - Looks to shoot and create, no real mistakes. Gives side balance
Daniel 5 - not spectacular, but a few good deliveries
Ifill 8 - Great deliveries, and attacked a lot. Needed to pass a few more times

Rojas 8 - More marco magic. attacks and creates. needs a goal soon
Greeny 5 - did what he could, created space
MacAllister 5.5- Pushed for the winner and dragged defenders

Siggy -0.5 (not saying he wasn't good, he was fantastic but to get above 9 a striker would have to grab like 3 goals or something)

Hearfield -1.0 - Pretty hopeless most of the game, lost the ball a million times.

Brown -0.5 - Not a great game bar the goal

Ward +0.5 - Had a great game

Ifill -1.0 - Not a bad game but not a good game by any mark

Otherwise agree.

What a brilliant second half. I'm hoarse here in BOP, dunno how those 14000 will be in Chch!!

Pasty 6 Did his best to lay out Vinnie and Flores
Siggy 9.99999 Incredible contribution to the game
Dura 9 Outstanding leadership, two crucial blocks against Van Dyk, great runs upfield
North 6 Solid
Troy 5.5 Not too bad, but if you compare his contribution on one flank to Siggy's on the other... Lost the ball at crucial times.
Manny 8 Top job marking Flores
Timmy 7  Nice goal, two good chances as well, unlucky. First half very quiet
Vinnie 6 Gutsy
Daniel 6 Some nice crosses but not getting fwd fast enough
Ifill 6.5 Missed a couple of great chances, didn't pass early enough a couple of times, one great cross should have created a goal.
Ward 7 A good threat, going close
Rojas 7.5 Showed how to take a dead ball kick, how to take people on, nearly scored
Greenie Nearly scored
Big Mac on late

O'Leary 5 very inconsistent
Ricky 8 Good subs again
Canty crowd 9.8
What do you reckon??

if anyone else had played the game Ifill did, i reckon they'd have got a 7.5

i think we tend to judge him fairly harshly because of his own high standards

oh and you may have let your emotions influence your siggy score

Showing brand loyalty....

Mostly agree with that. Not sure I'd give Siggy and Durante 9s, but I did think Durante was outstanding today. Just superb, except for that tanty he had at O'Leary.

Would also push up Ward maybe a half a mark. He put himself about to great effect, even though not everything he did worked out. Love seeing a workrate like that.

Couldn't honestly say that North did much wrong either.

Siggy - MoM in my opinion
Ifill failed to fire, was shut down all game
Dura - solid at back, saved a few good chances for van Dijk
Brown - right place at the right time, otherwise okay
Ward - all over the park ,very good game
Rojas - deserves a start, just so he can take the set pieces

Yellow Fever - Misery loves company

Pasty 7 - still would be happier with a bit less punching.
Siggy 10 - absolutely perfect game, great goal.
Dura 9 ver very handy on defence and displayed good leadership.
North 6
Troy 5.5 - I don't have much faith at all in Hearfield I'm afraid.
Manny 9 - excellent game from him, great marking, really slowed down Flores!
Timmy 7 - missed a few chances and fluffed a few things. Great goal though, and better second half.
Vinnie 6 also fluffed a few things - Lia will have to do a lot to prove to me he deserves to start.
Daniel 5.5 - not a good game at all for him! disappointing.
Ifill 6.5 - not such a great game, nearly scored so many times but just not quite good enough for a 7.
Ward 6.5 stuffed up a few things, fair shots on goal.
Rojas 8 - very very helpful going forward, whole game lifted once he was on there!
Greenie - can't say, didn't see much of him.
Big Mac on late

If Siggy doesn't get a 10 today, then when will anyone?

In fairness I thought O'Leary had a good game too. Especially the part where he sent Dodd. What was it for? didn't see properly if Dodd lined up Lia.

But good reffing- fair yellow on Dura and let play continue for Ifill, and then came back to card Cornthwaite. What was Greenies yellow for?

yup Sigmund shows why he's so cherished by real fans
today's effort I'd rank as a top 5 ever from a Phoenix player.
it's leadership like this that gets a team upwards
run to GF started today.

Could'nt agree more. One of the worst refs in the league, but has been for a few years.

Hearfield was so poor.  3.5 maximum.

Thought MacAllister did fairly well in his few minutes on the park while Siggy has to get an 8.

The thing I love about Siggy is that he refuses to accept that he is a player of limited ability. A lot of people, myself included, believe he shouldn't be at right fullback. You might assume he would think to himself "I'm slow, I lack finesse, I'll get caught out if I push too far up - better play it safe".

No, he's actively looking for the ball, making runs, showing some suprisingly good skill at beating his man and making a telling pass. He's clearly not going to accept that he has already reached his full potential.

Although everyone loves to see natural flair players like Kosta and Rojas, Siggy is as much a role model for so many young players proving that with a lot of hard work and self-belief they too can make it as a professional footballer.

Am surprised that out of a back four two players siggy and Durante can score so high, and the other two so low... fan loyalties??

North had a good game 7 and Hearfield was also pretty solid. Gave the ball away a few times but made quite a few interceptions and I can not recall too many attacks down his flank, so also a 7.

Quick question, who was marking Van Djrk for the goal?

i thought north was not so good in first but had a better 2nd half i thought Hearfield was good on defense but his first touch let him down but still a good game.

i agree with TouchMe lol
i tihnk a bit of fan loyalty.
i think some players get alot of slack they dont deserve e.g. lochead

now i think at start of season Hearfield was crap but he has been decent these last couple weeks yet everyone rates him 3 or 4 kinda thing
if u ever played football manager think how bad they have to play to get a 4 or 3 even

I've got a feeling it was Lia, not sure why it would have been him though?

Also, I think Siggy may have been deserving of a ten if we had a clean sheet, plus maybe never troubled down his wing. He did well mostly but was challenged a few times early on

nah it was North, Van Dyk was all over him, in the replay it even looked as though he was using north to get higher, could have been penalised for it.....

It was a freak goal from VD. Some refs would have pinged him for jumping off the defender. Im not sure he meant to put the ball exactly where it went.
