Pav didn't even know how to stop the ball when it was passed to him. One at best.
I like tautologies because I like them.

Take another 0.5 from Bertos and 1.5 from Lochhead.

That should do it.

Ifill was very good when he came on. Now way was he a 3.

I'd give Greenacre about a 2. Pavlovic was a 1. Daniel was quite good - should've done better when he hit the crossbar though.

Warner 6 - sometimes not keen to come off his line (i.e. the goal) and overly keen at other times. Did make a great save first half though.
Muscat 6 - fairly average game overall
SigmUnd 6 - same
Durante 6 - same
Lochhead 5 - didn't do a whole lot, some poor distribution as usual
Lia 6 - thought he was doing ok
Brown 3 - Missing, waste of a jersey, never does a single thing
Sanchez 5 - Didn't get into the game at all
Bertos 2 - Woeful. Can't shoot, can't cross, can't pass, can't beat a player
Daniel 6 - did ok, possibly should've scored when hitting the bar
Greenacre 3 - can't recall him touching the ball very often

Subs
Ifill 5 - looked reasonably dangerous, must have been frustrated with inept teammates
Smith 2 - lost his man at the goal
Pavlovich 1 - absolutely useless

can't believe you rate Pav above Manny, and same as Ifill...

Warner 3  failed when mattered the most, failed to come and catch, failed to protect his near post, Paston next Sunday.
Lochy 3  as fail as Warner, keep finding the wrong side of the touchline, and sh*te crosses.
Siggy 6  steady
Dura 6  steady, frustrated at our midfield at times, so chose to charge forward in several occasions.
Manny 4.5  not his best game, passing was bad, but still one of our better players on the park.
Brown  1  people can challenge this score if they believe so but i would like to hear a good reason for it, he was just sh*te and hopeless and ghost around and did nothing at all.
Lia 6.5  best performer
Daniel 6  lively, looking to create, but missed a golden chance.
Bertos 2  run, stop, turn, dispossessed, typical Bertos v2012...
Sanchez 5  crying for balls to feet instead was mostly ignored by our midfield.
Greenie 4  worked hard, but didn't get any chance coz of the sh*te deliveries his getting all day.

Ifill 6  class, created some chances in a short amount of time.
Pav 2  hopeless, made Ifill frustrated.
Smith 2  oh dear...i like him...but it was his (+Warner) fault that lead to the goal.

RH 2  his watching a different game in Brown and Bertos maybe?  sub off Lia and Daniel...what can I say...

YF 10 worst condition, worse game, but best from YF, simple.

Forget player ratings....... let's call it coach / manager ratings instead.

RH - 2 out of 10.

Plays Brown and Bertos who have been out of form for weeks.

Subs off Daniel, his perenial whipping boy, when he's actually been playing well and at least showing some spark even when the team isn't playing well.

Subs off Vinnie Lia who was also playing better then Brown or Bertos..... (perhaps he was injured though, so perhaps that's where RH picks up one of his two points for recognising that much!)

I cannot abide by blind loyalty to out of form players and have come to the conclusion that if the majority of us in the stands can predict what style of game we will be playing at home and away then better footballing brains than ours (i.e. the other 9 coaches in the league) will have sussed out a way to beat us as well. Perth did exactly that today.

Three words are putting me off the Nix..... "cautious" and "status-quo". I'm loath to turn my back after not missing agame since day 1, but my frustration at RH using players than barely rate a score week in week out is making me feel like giving up, and what bothers me is there seems little chance of anything changing.

I agree with the player ratings most of us have posted give or take a point here or there, they (the players) are after all at the mercy of the coaches tactics, which sadly are predicatble and boring.

End of my rant. Thanks for your patience.

You don't want Leo at right back any more then?

If he HAS to play then I'd put him there, but to be fair I did concede there were probably better options at the club for RB to aloow Muscat to move forward...... but today certainly reconfirmed he (Leo) cannot continue in his current role, and quite possibly never as a RB option on current form.

Warner 4
Lochhead 6
SigmUnd 6
Durante 6
Manny 5

Not sure why defenders getting ranked so low everywhere else, other than the goal (from a dodgy freekick followed by some shoddy midfield tracking and awful keeping) Perth never really threatened, and we conceded less goals than we have in the past two games when they got outstanding rankings. Manny down slightly as he turned the ball over A LOT, also a couple of dodgy defensive moments.

Lia 6
Daniel 6.5
Brown 5
Bertos 5
Sanchez 6
Greenacre 4.5

Ifill 6
Pavlovic 4
Smith Not on long enough for a ranking, but let himself down from the corner.

In a post in the game thread you wanted Bertos at RB, Lia not playing and Pav starting up front. You honestly advocate having that after today's performance and recent ones?? A bit fickle I suspect.

Shame.  The Zone was actually good fun, once you got past the frustration and the growing inevitability of the final result.

I'll stick by my original team selection even after the Perth game, so no, I'm not fickle. One bad team performance does not change my mind on selections, it's weeks of poor performances that prompted my ideas. Besides which, my criticism is of RH and not neccesarily the players. Players go in and out of form, that's football, but coaches should have the nouse to see that and react to it.
The loss yesterday was down to out of form and jaded players and predictable tactics.
Perhaps instead of trying to pick holes in my comments you could make some constructive ones of your own on where things could be improved.

the loss yesterday was summed up before the game by Tim in his acceptance speech - said something along the lines of the jets win was scrappy and ugly to play and watch, lets hope tonights game is not the same - fail! Glory played like they said they would to shut us down and stop us shooting, big tick there, they have little or no chances and both teams hit the wood work. If it wasn't for a poor call by the ref we'd be looking at a boring draw, but still a poor performance from the lads and very poor tactically from RH.

Despite many calling for a revamp of selections....especially in midfield. IT WON"T HAPPEN. Rickie will put this result down to fatigue from the busy Xmas schedule. Expect the same lineup that started the Perth game to start next week with the possible addition of Ifill.

Rickie is a good coach and he has done exceptionally well despite mitigating factors(horrific early season injurys, no assistant coach etc) to get us to 4th spot at the half way point. However his blind loyalty to certain players is impeding the team from achieving its true potential this season. Its obvious to everyone that there are 2 or 3 players who are seriously out of form/fatigued

We have 3 attacking players  Ifill, Sanchez and Daniel who are in excellent form. To get the best from these guys we need IMO an overhall of the midfield. Some of our best football this season has been when we have kept the ball on the deck and selected players who pass and move. IMO the Brown Lia combo HAS to go. Our great run in season 3??? came with Muscat in midfield..he is after all one of our best players. Smith also has been very good in CM as well.  Sanchez should be the "go to" guy for most of our attacking play. He is the key to getting guys like Ifill regularly into attacking positions.

If we revamp our midfield then I reckon we have the attacking firepower to finish at least 4th and get a home semi.....which should be the measure of success this year.

I am afraid that  Rickie will keep the status quo....which would be a shame because we have the potential to do well. We have 7 out of our last 11 games away from home. Now is the time for some bold initiatives......the status quo won't get us there IMO

I agree with that. I think we need those two holding midfielders to be exactly that, holding midfielders. Very little freedom to ghost around like Timmy.

If we can have someone like smith and muscat holding the midfield in place and not getting too far forward, then we can essetially play the 4231 which allows for fullbacks to get forward which ricki likes.

Issue is ricki wont drop bertos and brown, and there is no obvious RB replacement. I would target a striker and a RB for next season, but currently would try for:

               Paston
Muscat Siggy Durante Lochhead
           Lia            Smith
Ifill           Sanchez        Daniel
              Greenacre

4231 is the way football is going in my eyes, and it completely works with rickis tactics. If we can get that king striker to lead the line, then we are looking damn good

totally agree with this, Lia and Brown provide the exact same thing, a tough, uncompromising midfielder. Neither provides a great touch, but they are tough players and take no prisoners. With a guy like smith beside them and sanchez leading the midfield attack ifill and Daniel will flourish - Bertos as an impact player could be useful, having a decent striker up front - needs to be a big man, not a poacher is a MUST.

Warner a 6? WTF, a 1 at best. And prof, yesterday i thought it should have been Brown off and not Lia. Despite slipping over, Lia had a pretty good game and covered the defence well. Tim was invisible.

PWF, good line up. I'd be tempted to try leo in place of Ifill and have Ifill in place of greenacre whom should be on the bench and used in the last 2o.

Don't think Tim was as bad as he's been made out to be in this game.

He definately is the favourite whipping boy for the forum and i have had my fair go at him to. He gets a 4.

Leo was poor and Manny had his first bad game in 2 years so i'll let him off.
