Knock everyone up personally.

I think you're being a bit stingy there.

Pasty dealtt with high balls very comfortably 7
Rest of defence and midfield I'd knock up a point.

Greenacre was a little disappointing (and yes I know he ran his arse off)

How much did we lose by on that cold dark afternoon in Newcastle....must be some heat loss in those numbers.

Can't agree with that assessment.  I wouldn't give a single player an 8, probably not a 7.5 either.  It was an ugly, ugly win.

Not sure it was that ugly. Except for their glaring miss in the last couple of minutes I thought it was quite comfortable.

Last time I tried I could barely walk to the swimming pool in 35 plus degrees let alone play football for 90 min...

Fairly comfortable, but we sunk to their level pretty much.  Got the result tho and excused by the heat.  Dont mind winning that one ugly.  Save very good, excellent and sensational for the next three games.

37 degrees at kickoff.....you know what that feels like?
37 degrees is too hot to lie on a beach, let alone run around on a football field. off course its going to be a slow game. But that lads were fantastic....composed, worked hard and got an away win. Their first in over a year.
Bloody great result!!!  All of them deserved a pat on the back!!!

Agree with that and the comments about the conditions, ugly win but good result to break the hoodoo with and great performance and result considering the heat.

I do not think it was ugly. All players could go up atleast one. Very solid in defense doesn't make it "ugly" and it wasn't scrappy.

Sorry to be late, good to know others don't wait around!!Bloody glad I wasn't playing in that heat, and good to see they were as much affected as us. I think our game plan was obviously to conserve energy where poss
Pasty 7.5 So much more commanding and confidence inspiring than the old days

Manny 7 Part of a strong back four, covered when necessary
Dura 8 He's been excellent for weeks, timing impeccable
Siggy 7.5 Kept the shape well, won most of his challenges
Lochie 7 defended well, made one important goal denying challenge and set up the goal
Leo 6.5 Mainly did well, ran out of steam, almost an assist, their keeper pulled off a miracle
Brownie 6.5 Actually looked composed on the ball, and I can't remember him fouling anyone in dumb areas
Diego 6 Like Tim, worked hard, slowed the ball down in the conditions
Daniel 6 Did his job
Ifill 7.5 Two great touches, the rest was good too
Greenie 5.5 Not in the game that much
Costa 6 Tried hard, but little impact
Caceras 6 Steady
Troy 6

That's my two cents worth

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Agreed. That's the sort of win that does amazing things for a team's confidence and spirit. They're always going to remember the day they ground out a win in 40 degrees and will be able to draw on that memory and experience to help them in other trying circumstances.

i figured that you had sat too close to the tV and copped a bit of heatstroke OIOI
hence the slower than usual reaction

VIgnaroli 8.5 heroic effort at denying himself a goal when scoring would have been the easy option.

Diego did well enough, and +.5 at least for the 'tache.

Re your Brown comment. Interestingly he drew quite a few fouls in the course of the match (and one, maybe two of the bookings).

It's a Brown-dicator of midfield pressure.

I know, I know, its serious!

what we saw on the pitch in a comfy lounge, i reckon everybody but the centre backs down 0.5-1, but given the heat they all deserve some adjustment, so fair enough oi oi

i tried to follow diego, but struggled to spot him often, maybe that's just me

Overall, yes, except Leo would go up a whole mark for me. Seems to me that the experience of playing a defensive role for the AWs has improved his defence for the Nix. He put in some very good work in that department today.

Daniel up .5: some classy control, passing and delivery. Seems so languid but actually did a lot of good productive stuff. In fact I thought he had another 10-15 minutes in the tank when he was subbed, and was still playing better than Caceres ended up doing in his place.

how the 'F' does Costa get a higher rating than Greenacre ????????

honestly the amount of times Greenie came back over the halfway line to win the ball then distribute it to the flanks, he deserves a bloody medal.
