I know it still hurts, and I know its taken me ages to post this. It was a long drive home on Sunday, I haven't seen the replay so its just from obs at the game, but I'm trying to be objective with these.... I thought the boys outplayed Roar for the most part so I'm pushing the result to the back of my mind.

Mossy 7.5 Great pen save, could he have done more to keep the winner out?
Louis 6 Much better than last week
Siggy 6 Slipped at vital moment, other wise solid
Dura 6 Defence mostly well organised
Manny 7.5 Made a huge difference. Although the winner came from his side, it was just after Kenny got subbed off and I don't think Hicks was back helping pick up the runners.
Kenny 6 A good shift, he's improving steadily
Vinnie 6 He and Reira did a good job keeping their midfield under control
Reira 8 Excellent, spread some lovely passes from back in the midfield
Carlos 6 Thank God he took the pen and not Brockie. Down to a walk at the end though.
Steiny 7 Brought the save that should have let to the opener, and did a good job
Brockie 4 Looked out of sorts from the start of the game. His runs were often not times with the team mates. Then his chance comes, and does he tap it in? no he blasts it. Over.
Ifill 4 Tried to make things happen but they didn't
Hicks 4 Better off leaving Kenny on.

Your view?

So funny , Manny gets turned inside out for the 2nd goal and its hicks fault for not tracking back . If this happened to young Caira he is crap and the fact he never has the midfield tracking back not mentioned . You're a joke .

I'd drop Moss a bit, up Fenton, lower Manny a half, and maybe a bit generous for Riera, though agree he got through a lot of work.  And maybe a bit harsh on Ifill and Hicks.

But I'd kick George out of the jungle

still think Moss does not command in the air and can hover a bit tentatively

Settle down fella.... It is an opinion, one which he is entitled to just as you are. By all means disagree but you don't need to turn it personal

Would drop all of Moss, Siggy, Manny, Stein and Brockie.

Moss should probably have the last goal covered. Siggy only slipped because he was far too slow at marking his man, that goal is all his fault.

Manny should have realised for the last goal that nobody was there covering (as they should have been) and let him go far too easy. Stein was good but his final product isnt there. He had a perfect opportunity to cross it to an unmarked Brockie (prior to miss) on the 6 yard box but decided he should go it alone.

Didn't think Riera was 'excellent", didn't have a bad game but to say he was excellent is stretching it. A lot.

Can't see how Ifill and Brockie get the same mark, compare what Ifill did in the 2nd half compared to Brockie in the 1st half, far more shots, won us several corners, on the ball far more and went looking for work. Far better than Brockie was, yeah the touch wasn't always great and he butchered a few things but he at least he was involved.

Agree pretty much with the rest though, although I do think Siggy is a bombscare. he was woefully at fault for their first goal.

On Stein's final product, I remember screaming at the telly at one stagein the first half when Stein broke away on the right and had the chance to play Brockie in early, but Brockie had run offside and the opportunity had gone.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

We could do without the hostile comments. Oi Oi is a great forum member posting his opinion. He is certainly not 'a joke'. If you don't agree with him then say that and explain. We are all friends here.

Sorry for the angry comment Oi Oi , i just hate seeing every game the young players in the squad being the scape goats for the lack of movement of the older players . The older players by their lack of effort in defence mainly and poor  finishing have put the younger players with less experience under great pressure which , in turn  hurts their confidence .

Maybe if we fielded a few more younger players ( as perth did ) so there was more help in both defence and attack things would be different .

I think if we were objective, the scapegoating has been missing the last few of weeks. Lia did not start well but he has turned it around (not saying he is a superstar but he is better than what he was) Stein has been more involved the last games.

Moss has had one howler, Brockie has had one howler, Fenton has had one howler. Its not the same guy getting finger pointed each week. Maybe we have matured as a forum collective? (wishful thinking I know)

We all heard that Ernie is looking for an end-to-end midfielder. We all agree it is a bit of a wishful thinking to even find one now (i.e. January window) let alone afford one (or persuade them to come here for less).

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that we would get a lot of improvement with a good quality player, fit, able and in his prime, in almost any position, rather than shopping for the end-to-end-midfielder (ETEM). For example, if we find a good fullback, we can free up Fenton on the right to move forward, or scuttle the Caira project on the left. If we get a good striker, we can rest Brockie and allow Ifill less than 90 min on the field. If we get a decent centreback, we could slowly phase Siggy out. If we get a good midfielder, then Ernie will know what to do.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Very much this. One, or more, signings of a reasonable quality will give us a lot more options which will have a knock-on effect all over the park. I think Ernie is actually pretty aware of what we need and what it will take to get to where he wants us to be

right on - we don't really need to find a good mid - just any good star quality player would help - right now we have a squad of talented young kids - yet to get to star status and aging good players with a few journeymen - what we really need is a quality player in his prime to boost the squad.

For the record. Vinnie is the scapegoat.
