We will never win "the toilet seat" before our dissolution at the end of our current contract.

The results tell me that there is a group for who winning the comp will always be the mark of success, there is also a significant other group, the option this group voted for receiving the most votes, for who fininshing from 1 through to 6 at the end of the regular season, with the prospect of games to follow, is enough for them. Note that I have a soft spot for the option that garnered the third highest amount of votes.

The most voted for option in this poll has also been the stated objective of our club for certainly the last 5 years or so. In this regard the club's aspirations are not completely awry with that of its fan base.

Is it our relatively poor results record over our history that's led to this?

Are we just going to oscillate to ordinariness? Thats not what I want.

Success of the club would also be lobbying the FFA to recognise NZ passport holders as domestic A League players thereby guaranteeing a pathway for nz football players outside of and beyond the Phoenix should it dissolve.

Nope. I noted that there was a commonality of goals of the fan base and the club. So perhaps we all need to take a look at our selves and ask "is this good enough?".

I answered 'make the top 6' purely based off the fact that we've made the playoffs in 1 out of the last 4 seasons, so to me that would be a successful season this year. Had we been in a position like WSW where they've lost 3 out of the last 4 grand finals, I would have said winning the championship was success

Mixed response to that poll, between winning it and top 6

Maybe some were thinking as I was.  I answered twice, once for top six, once for the toilet seat, because the answer I wanted to give was top 4 and it wasn't an option.

If we can regularly finish top 4 we give ourselves a shot at winning the toilet seat, just as some years we'd fall short of a top 4 target.

Aiming for top 6 consistently isn't ambitious enough for me.

Aiming to win it every year against the budgets and population centres of Sydney and Melbourne seems too big an ask.

Top 4 for me.

Pretty sure that would be a FIFA call; as AFC would have to allow OFC players that right.

Also, the club has more important issues at hand - like climbing the table.

Kotahitanga. We are one.
