Bentleigh score off a corner 0-1

Holy shark! 1:0 Greens

What’s wrong with the keeper? Not moving!

1- 0 down, conceeded off a corner, Fox missed it and they nod it in.

We've looked more threatning in general, despite our lack of possession. Would like to see us press a little higher.

Keeper wasn’t at fault

If Lia is no longer playing, but we leak in a goal, is it still his fault?

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

That’s it. The season is doomed.

Fox in midfield is not working at the moment

That’s a deserved red tbf, honestly surprised he was only given a yellow for the disgusting challenge on Cacace

Bentleigh down to 10!

Permalink Permalink

Well that's fortunate for us... we look like a well structured team that doesn't know what to do in possession currently.

Second commentator can shut his mouth, jesus christ. Calling it a bad decision by the ref and saying it isn’t a card because he didn’t mean to go studs up into his ankle

Permalink Permalink

saying it wasn't a red - when in fact it was a second yellow! still fudgeing questioning it. Clear second yellow and therefore red!

Queenslander 3x a year.

He got him high up on the shin and went down the leg - clear second yellow, so a clear red.

We looked a million dollars this time last year, lost and had a sharke year... perhaps this is a sign, starting badly, but we have a great season!

second commentator is clearly a BGR fan, everytime they are on the ball its "we this and we that"

Fox does not have the touch required of a DM.

Bad news about Bratten.. hopefully he is ok. didn't seem like they're was anything in the challenge.

Just hope we can come back from here. Have faith that we'll be able to roll Bentleigh in the second half against 10 men. Don't need any more fodder for the Aussie critics to feed off in the lead up to the A-League season. Fox in midfield sounds like it's not working.

So for the second half, do we get Doyle for LB and Cacace to DM with Kopczynski?

Or, more likely, Rufer for DM with Kopczynski?

Rufer might come on as DM?

well with bgr down a man fox is under less pressure so doesn't look as bad. His touch and decision making was not good enough in midfield.

I posted here some days ago that the team looks great on paper but developing cohesion will take a while.Shame I cannot see the game, but it sounds like lack of "team awareness" might be a problem tonight. Would be good to win against ten people tonight and get a chance to play another FFA Cup game (round of 16), which might give us more competitive practice before October.

First impressions of Kopycinski not great. Was invisible when they had 11. A player of his background should be demanding the ball and running the show against a team like this. Burns has been awful again. Hopefully 2nd half brings a big improvement

Paracki also said he was struggling with the a league, mainly the pace of it.

Did here? Here are the only quotes I can find;

"I can't wait for the championship to start because I'm not used for the pre-season to be this long," he said.

"In Europe, it's just one and a half months. Me and all the guys can't wait for Sunday at the game against Adelaide - after three months of just training, you want something to play for, for points."

Paracki says it's been easy to slot into the Phoenix fold, and get a handle on Kalezic and assistant coach Rado Vidosic's possession-based style of football.

Wellington have bolstered their midfield after losing three stalwarts from last season in Roly Bonevacia, Alex Rodriguez and Vince Lia.

Brazilian Gui Finkler remains, as does Michael McGlinchey - although he is away this weekend with the All Whites - while Vidosic's son Dario returns to the A-League from an Asian stint to add to the Phoenix's options through the middle.

Paracki is enjoying coming to grips with Kalezic's challenging game plan.

"It's like high pressure, and keep the ball at our feet - it's not very easy to do, because you must work like this for long periods," he said.

"It's easier to just punch the ball forward, but you must play and keep the ball in your possession. It's much tougher.

"We're looking forward to Sunday to show how we play and what we can do."

I also seem to remember him saying he struggled with the pace of the league

I heard/saw him say it in a tv interview

So if it's a draw its extra time then penalties,no replay I assume?
