I agree with Conan - we can keep on the bench guys that do not cost us a visa spot. In that sense, I have no issue with Lewis Italiano re-signing (unless you buy into a theory that we should be promoting home grown goalies first and foremost).

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I'm very interested in whether we continue to push our fullbacks in the same way we did last year.  In the last 3rd of the season it really was a strange approach, especially when you had Muscat playing on the wrong side and Boxall.  Time and time again we left our central defenders exposed 1 v 1 after one or both got caught high up the pitch and gave the ball away.

With a bit more security in the middle of the park I can see us doing it, but I hope we're a bit more cautious.  You have to be very comfortable keeping the ball high up the pitch to do that, if you turn it over a lot (which we definitely did) then it can be evry dangerous (c.f Arsenal Football Club for another team who could do with holding back their fullbacks a little)

I feel that if you are going to play two defensive minded midfielders then your going to have to push your full backs forward.

I think that's right, it probably depends on what level of attacking options we can get out of Roly and Gorrin.  I'm not convinced that pushing fullbacks forward, if they aren't players who offer a lot of attacking threat, is actually a good idea.  I'm not sure that Doyle or Muscat is going to give you that much when pushed on.

Personally, if you're not getting enough attack out of Gorrin and Roly you may need to drop one of them to the bench, hold your fullbacks a little more, and then add a guy like Cunningham or Fenton to attack out wide.

I guess what i am saying is that I hope we get a little bit more balance this year.

This is really exciting.

The pre-season was so long I stopped thinking how long there was to go, and now all of a sudden I've re-engaged and there's 8 days. Amazing.

Potential Perth lineup?

                   Vukovic

Risdon----Thwaite---Dulbic----Jamieson

            Zadkovic----Griffiths

Hersi--------Nichols--------Garcia

                Keogh

Bench: Clisby, Duncan, Harold, Marinkovic, Ferriera

I think we'll have to attack with our fullbacks in order to get some form of width. Burns and McGlinchey may nominally be wingers but they're not genuine wingers and will spend more time inside creating. Riera shouldn't get forward too much in order to drop into back line if a central defender gets dragged wide. With Bonavacia charging back centrally too.

I've got nothing but good feelings for Danny Vukovic.

I'd love it if we gave "Sha nananananananananan naaaaa Danny Vukovic, Vukovic, Daaaaaannny Vukovic" an airing.

I reckon it would be a nice tribute to him, to show him we still appreciate what he did while he was here.

Looking forward to the game but I hope the Nix and the Stadium Trust/Management have learned a few lessons from us.

Nick or is it mick tinny or tonsley, tansley or whatever (followed by laughter) should not be allowed anywhere near the stadium during game day.

The super loud friggen music which they are doing at the eggball game is preferably turned off for the entire game day, or at least turned down to a level where you can actually hear the person next to you. Of course those in a corporate box with the windows wont notice.

Will we be given a rest from that shit? Of course not, we're just bread and butter fans whom have been there for the long haul, why should our opinions count?

Can we still have him banned on game day? Maybe a trespass order? Spare us halftime or during the game embarrassing moments.

Maybe JV saw Krishna a lot more than you. In the ASB he was very 1 dimensional. Head down, run like fuck. Score. Or not score,

I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...

Tansley is doing game one, then Jay Harvie is taking over. And I've had informal chats with him about not paying music during the game etc, so he knows the drill.

Awesome, the less time nick "the dick" has at the announcers desk the better. Hopefully the new guy has got the players names rehearsed.
