Far to much in this thread about him.Focus should be on those here this year not those who have departed dont give ashark if one of them is a club legend he plays for the OPPOSITION.

Just spotted a free-to-air replay of the first Nix game on Prime, late on Sunday night. Is this a one off, or will there be FTA replay's throughout the season?

Yep, more interested to see how our new squad performs. Although Berisha does bring out the bad side in me. Respect his goalscoring  but what a complete cod he is - On the field. Don't know what he is like off it.

Just over 24 hours out, what are everyone's predictions for both the score and for in general play? I'm going for a gutsy 2-1 win, plus:

  • Rufer will get too fired up and go straight through the back of someone
  • Libby will dribble past Diamanti just like he did Honda last season and it will be magnificent
  • Rudan will get a yellow card and we will all go mental

2-0 to us McCowatt and Ball with the goals

They will have a goal disallowed through VAR.

It will be close, traditionally we're pretty poor in the opening round (2 wins, 5 draws and 5 losses) across our history in season openers, but they're close either way. The biggest winning margin for either us, or the opposition came back in the 2012-13 season - Think Louis Fenton with that fantastic diving header on debut against the Smurfs!

But in saying all this, the game is going to have some spice to it! I honestly can't remember a time when there was so much talk in the media building up a game in the A-League. There is some genuine feeling to this one, and even though it's not a 'derby' in the traditional sense, I think the game will have a good intensity to it.

Gotta back the boys to get the job done though. Going with a 2-0 for the Nix, Davila to score a screamer and McCowatt to knick in with one and get the win.

So much to look forward to, but personally looking forward to see how the imports stack up against good opposition. Expecting big games from the Kiwi contingent of Marinovic, Cacace, Fenton and Rufer as well as McCowatt and Waine if they make it on the park.

Hell, it's just good to be back!

Three points.
Preferably keeping a clean sheet at the bare minimum.

1-0 park the bus or 5-4 ping pong game it doesn’t matter how.

A bit of chat around Soto Rio starting in the media.  Out of hom, Waine and McCowett he's been the least prominent, I don't get it!

More experienced, but he's never been a star and doesn't demand selection based on prior seasons. Hope the media is wrong.

I don't like the idea of asking Waine or McCowatt to do 90, or even 60.  Happy to see Sotirio use his size and pace to work over the United D and give the kids a shot for 30-35 at the end.

Give them a taste of rugged A League defending, but don't ask them to do a full 15 round heavyweight match just yet.

first road trip of the season dragging a couple of extras along so hopefully a good game so they are keen to travel again.

looking forward to the football but the trip down will probably be a bit slow with school holiday finishing traffic heading back to wellington.

Cannot wait - probably gonna be a rusty lottery of a game (after watching that Melbourne derby last night).

Hopefully we're on the right side of the final score-line, but personally just want to see which of our new players have the potential to cause sides real problems thru the season.

Think McCowatt will start.

It will be great to see where we stand after tonight's game.

At home, good weather, bit of feeling - should be a cracker.

Love to see some of the younger players step up and make a difference.

Have a great game Yellow Fever, oh, and the Nix too. :)
