Nothing to do with Hamilton but it looks like I might be driving to Auckland.

Anyone wants a ride up there and back, pm me. I will be driving back after the game. Only two or three rules, no smoking or drinking in my car and no throwing up in it either!

I hope to leave about 5am so i can get a decent park up there and have a nana nap before the game. Where is the best place to park where my car will be safe and not towed?

Outside the Frankton Hotel in Commerce St. just down the main road from the George. Owned by a hood and frequented by same (according to an ex-girlfriend who lives nearby) so the towies should stay well clear.

I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...

Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."

Potentially our lowest ever crowd? Look forward to all the hot takes on our future in the A-League.

PS She also says Richie Pickett, aka 'the wild man of NZ country music" - wiki, practically lived in the place so it could be good value for a beer or two as well.

3060 in Dunedin in 12/13. Think we'll beat that.

Reckon 7-8K would be a fair crowd. Got 10k for a couple of U20 games last year, inlcuding the NZ knockout game.

I was at that Dunedin game. Ironically, it was also the first game in charge for Greenacre after Ricki left. Must be a rule that coaches can only resign when the next game is an home/away game

There has been nothing anywhere to promote the game other than a little email from WAIbop Footy.

I know about 15 people going that been said.

I was in Hamilton for work on Wednesday and did not such much in a way of promotion, banners etc.

The only city that seems to have done it well historically (outside Welly) is ChCh, on each occassion.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

There's been a lot of billboards in Auckland for the Mt Smart game.

Is it up to the councils to promote the game? Does the Hamilton city council underwrite it like the Dunedin (and potentially Christchurch?) councils?

Hamilton is pretty broke and all their councilors seem to care about is giving the population of their city tooth decay.

Maybe the performance and the result could mean more than the crowd on this occasion?

The club will likely blame Hamilton for the turnout but lets be realistic here. The travelling circus only works when the club are at least capable of winning games. I know a lot of casual football fans who on principle would not go to watch a wooden spoon team, I can't blame them. No one has loyalty in places like Hamilton, its purely an entertainment event. They should be very happy if they get 4-5k in a rugby city with 150,000 people when the team is last place.

Second game after he left! His first was at home to Newcastle, we lost 2-1.

1-1 is my pick.....hoping they start Watson and drop Kosta. Giving Litfin a good run second half would assist as well.  Bring it on...

I see the Yellow Fever section looks pretty full, pretty central rather than in a corner, Aisle 29 right?

I like the way you think but unfortunately I'm not sure we'll see players like Kosta or Finkler dropped due to bad form considering they're marquee players. It would be great to see Watson starting though; last time he started he helped us defeat the Mariners, so maybe he can do so again.

"Bringing in Hamish Watson up front is an obvious move, and one that would give the attacking trio of Roy Krishna, Gui Finkler, and Kosta Barbarouses a focal point to work around. That would require playing two midfielders instead of three, so it was no surprise to see Roly Bonevacia and Vince Lia working together as a combination in front of the back four at training."

Something I'd like to see, except maybe someone else for Lia.

Maybe so. I was thinking about  a better footballer but that may not be necessary ;).

Maybe they start playing fantastic all attacking winning football with the same tactic and lineup. This would be a surprise.

I don't think Finkler has had bad form, he's not dominating the games as much as we'd like but he's been playing well.

I believe the Nix are going to win this game. It's just in the tarot cards. Someone other than Roy or Watson is going to score as well, so that's exciting....
