Davila not playing centrally definitely makes him less effective on attack but still playing well

Davila a bit quiet?

He's been given some defensive duties to fit Hooper into the front line, not surprising he's quiet, but he has been getting back on defence

Im missing his creativity...he adds so many dimensions in attack.

Hooper looks exhausted already!

Giving the ball away pretty cheaply at the back. At least 3 times that's happened now.

CCM pretty toothless but frustrating especially if it comes from a few sloppy passes. Midfield doing well and Devlin buzzing about and being that link man at the heart of midfield - god he's been impressive this past month...

So David Ball is quite the player!

I agree with the comment on Davila. It seems churlish to complain about the guy who got our first goal (great work D. Ball, and Davila for getting out of the way!) but G. Hooper seems kind of... one dimensional in comparison.

He reminds me of how I play when my team take me out of goal and put me in as target-woman for a laugh

Ball sending a couple Mariners defenders for hotdogs with those turns. Great goal.

Second assist for Payne too! Making that right back position his own.

Let's get 3-4 this half and really go for the throat!

Smooth move from Davila. Wouldn't be surprised if Talay pulls Hooper at half-time for Sotirio so Ulises can go back to showing his magic..

Man, D. Ball is clearly inherited Roly Bonevacia's target on his back

Reckon he'd be tempted, but would probably only do it if we are 'safe' at 3-0 if we can get another before the break.

Would say he'd be given 60 minutes at the least if we're working on building his match fitness.

Wasn't a ball off ref a drop ball last week?

Why don't we have anyone who can smack in long-range shots like Oar and Gallifuoco?

(only not coming off the woodwork, of course)

Who scored for them? Was it an own goal? CCM deserve nothing out of the game really, would have also been unlucky for the Nix if one of those speculators that hit the woodwork went it. Up until the 45th minute it was a clinic on how to play against teams below us in the table.

Think it was an own goal from DeVere

Think we've actually been quite poor so far, despite the two goals. If we don't pick up 2nd half, we'll drop points.

Is this the first game where the Nix have scored 3 in the first half?

Poor? I think you're watching a different game. Possession, passing (number and accuracy), shots on target. Mariners have had nothing apart from an own goal and long range shots, we've given them nothing in the box. The nix passing on the other hand has been a joy to behold for the most part. Mariners are known for their tenacity in 50/50 situations, but I still think we are shading them there too. I can't understand how that can be described as poor.

I like them both but commentary today has been so poor - have barely commentated the game.

Defence looks all at sea this game. Lucky that Oar shot didn't go in too. Need to improve quickly.

Everything is relative - poor in comparison to the last few weeks; we let them back in despite them not having any real threats. They've beat us down Libby's side regularly and have hit the post twice. Just think it looks as if we're coming to grips with the modification in personnel. I'd expect Sotirio to come in for Hooper 2nd half and for us to go back to Davila being more central.

Yes it was and FIFA recently changed the rules so that like rugby, if the referee interferes in anyway, its a drop ball.  I think you'll find Steinmann was telling the ref that which seems to have annoyed the ref.  Am more curious as to why the commentators didn't mention it.

All at sea? They've literally only had long range shots outside of the box because the defense has shut them out.

Giving up a goal from a defensive mistake puts us on par with last week. I don't think we are playing worse than at any other time during our unbeaten run, and despite the scoreline are looking very comfortable.

Edit: Its like people think of the Mariners and automatically assume a 5-0 scoreline.

Shots from outside the box have hit the woodwork twice and produced a goal.

Just saying.

worried about how much Hooper has dropped out of the game since the 17th min. He needs to be creating space for others to play into as well as taking the ball and creating options.
