I think his work ethic is quite good actually - I just don't think he's necessarily a huge athlete, not someone like Krishna who can sprint all game.

Our first goal against Victory (from the spilled catch) was pure Krishna.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Some of the other keepers or ex keepers on here might agree but I ,always used to fancy my chances as a keeper in a one on one situation. I'd think for a striker [or any outfielder] the pressure is on them to score is huge and if they know the keeper is coming the old pulse will be racing. I remember one game where my theory was severed shattered, Gary Pattison [I think his name was] from Stop Out left me holding my dick in my hand as he stopped, casually dribbled around me and slotted the ball home. I could only stand up and applaud.

Garry Paddison was a very good 'finisher"  Who were you playing for at the time?

My arm was cramping up so bad from all the drumming in the last 10 minutes, I was in lots of pain but had to keep going until the big finish. Anyone got any tips how to keep the arm going through long repetitive motions?

Nightly practice?

Jeez that seems a long time ago - basically a different team now - Finkler, Abbas, Vidosic, Smith starting..

Use your wrists as opposed to your arms. No 1980's exaggerated arm movements!!

Wikipedia informs me that Leopard U never faced Stop Out in the Chatham Cup. Amazing that I can just find that out.

Chatham Cup game in mid 70s?

1974 at Randwick School, Lower Hutt. I thought it was Chatham Cup but I noticed it wasnt shown as being that in the NZF records that are online somewhere (not certain they are the official records). Were beaten by about 8-0 or something. Was very early in the preseason, the ground was like concrete, played Stokes Valley the next day and I burst my appendix. Must of been some kind of cup competition because we were nowhere near their standard ( about 4 leagues below) and wouldnt play them otherwise. We lost to Napier City Rovers I think in the Chatham Cup that year.

Edit: When did the Air New Zealand Cup start?
