On the other hand, keep a clean sheet and you can't lose ;)

I thought both Manny and Dura were poor last night (based on highlights only), Manny in particular seemed to be all over the place positionally. I personally think that Manny should have played FB instead of Ridenton or Doyle and Fox should have stayed at CB.

I also think that in terms of stabilising the team and turning results around it's better to start with the defence and work your way forward. The midfield will play better if they are confident in their defenders, and the forwards will get better chances if the mids are playing better. Which isn't to say we don't have issues up front.

Also, I just have to say it: Mooy is one hell of a footballer. Seems to get better every game I see him play.

Agree.  However, Mooy was poor in the first half, probably the worst I have seen him. First touch and his options were bad.

Is this why they were only leading us 2:0 at half time?

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Ah, I only saw the highlights and he looked good on there. I guess they wouldn't show him screwing up on a highlights reel though!

Is Louis Fenton's shoulder giving him trouble when it comes to throw-ins? He is very slow to pick a man to throw too - This whole season I've noticed him  do this

Three questions from last night:

1. Did we have a left-back playing in that game?

2. Has Appiah actually been instructed by Ernie to run over the by-line with the ball (perhaps in an effort to get the opposing defenders laughing their arses off to the point where they may not be able to defend properly)?

3. Does the backline have a fund that they all contribute to each week to buy Mossy lunches in gratitude for all the times he covers their f#*k-ups?

Blake Powell looks more likely to score than Jeff or Appiah

Roly might not score many but the ones he does are pure quality. kinda reminds me of Graeme Souness. Always scoring the rare but spectacular goals.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

To be fair its not just him like our attack we are so bloody slow in this area.

Now we all are talking  if you look at all the top teams around the world they concede bugger all goals.I heard Piney  this morning saying Ernie needs to have a clear out, at least six more players are needed he said I think it needs to be more a new back four for a starter

Sounds a bit like Man Utd.

We are kind of playing a bit like LvG's United too - slow possession play with nothing to show for it

Graeme Souness is the type of guy who would go through Rolys calfs without thinking about it. 20 years on, youd expect the ref to do something about it

United, despite Leggy's assertions, have a well functioning defence.
