2nd bye week will be interesting watching other results as we prepare for our next game against Perth in Perth. If Adelaide win we should still hold 4th by goal difference but will see if City and Perth can pull away from us as they face Adelaide and Victory respectively.

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

Hooper too slow as a wingback, Oli Sail should replace him.

Royz tells me he expects the Phoenix to lose this one.

Hope we don't concede - can't see us scoring in this one

Oh good. We only lose when he predicts a win.

"Not a striker"

well he has scored 1 goal this season, has a total of three over two season. He is 5th in the goals scored list this season.

think this bye has came at a very good time for us.

First of all our morale should be decent after the last win

While we have a few points the last few games have however highlighted a few issues.

Allows the coach to take stock and also hopefully allows hoops another two weeks to finally get up to full  fitness

He's also pretty good at the diving save so could be keeper.

well the teams that win or draw this round will stretch away gain ground as if we'd lost.

I am OK with City gaining ground this weekend as they are playing Adelaide.  City is on 27 points, we are on 24 and Adelaide is on 21.

However, Perth (on 25) is a dead cert to win against Victory at home.   That would not change the standings.

With a bit of luck, the Jets may beat the Bitumens at home which would keep WU on 20 points.

Gives Piscopo a chance to rest his legs a bit too - Ball still recovering from injury as well.

Agree it's come at a perfect time.

I think I agree, but the proof will be in the next performances.
