More for Petone, go the blues!

I don't. I wouldn't renew my season pass, and thousands of fans north of the city along SH1 would become alienated and not bother. Imagine taking public transport from Paraparaumu ... could take 2 hours to either location. 30mins on the train for me from Paremata could turn into 90mins. Sad because places like Tawa, northern Porirua and Kapiti are strong footballing communities. I just can't see all these people keen to travel for 3-4 hours.

Would be good for the Hutt though. I'm sure they would get a lot of season tickets outta the Hutt from it. They will be wrapped to have a professional sports team local. And it isn't that further for you a transfer to the Hutt line and a 5 minute walk from Alicetown station. Hopefully they would do free railway fares from Wellington to Petone for ticket holders. Like they did in Auckland last night. The positives from the atmosphere would be worth the extra 15 minute train ride.

For a female, yes, for a male it's a slang term for a gay whore, or just a gay man. Sauce = Venezuelan girl/Mexican supporter I met at AWs vs. Mexico.

Best chant was "Lemonade United" from an eight year old in our row.

Some good discussions on Radio Sport this morning about a second nz A League team.

The general consensus was yes, it could be done, so long as it gets the right people behind it.

Chelski are behind the APFA Academy are they not. Gareth could offer them a word of encouragement to make a greater investment.

People are kidding themselves if they think a second team in NZ will happen any time soon..Could happen sooner if we were to join Asia but cant see them allowing a 2nd team from Oceania to join the A league any time soon.

Good crowd would be interesting to know how many of them were paying and not freebies.

I think Auckland has a better chance of a A League team now that the Phoenix exist. The rivalry would be great.

Oh you mean that shiny black BMW m series in my driveway? Ya. You're either missing the point, or just being a complete fucktard. Not everyone drives. And not everyone wants to drive from say Pram to Newtown and back.

We've seen what North Harbour did already for travelling to games...

I actually wouldn't mind this. I'd even consider travelling to Auckland.

Yes North Harbour doesn't have a train service. But to Petone there is....fucktard.

Not from Porirua, the Kapiti coast, Johnsonville, Karori, Miramar, Newlands, Haitaitai, etc there isn't. You'd have to get one form of public transport to the CBD then another to Petone

No, that's a marica  or a maricon

.

"Puto" would be commenting on a gay man's conduct, not just his sexuality. Definitely a male whore and not just "a queer".

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Then I must have hallucinated the jam-packed trains leaving after the game. Things have changed here. Public transport is becoming sexy in AKL, and when the electric trains start running in April, even sexier.

Oh, and for those keeping track - my Gaelic team won the league, although we drew rather than won today's match (ref gave away a soft-as-butter penalty against me. What nonsense! The opposition forward ran into me!)

well they've got the busway now...Ok checked it, but it's still a twenty minute walk to the stadium, unlike Eden Park 10 minutes max bus or train and a two minute walk. Plus great pubs etc around

Nice to see Vince Lia getting some love now.  He is a great example of the eternal truth that all of us have great skills and abilities that can shine in the right environment and with right coach.  Lia may have played badly under Ricky, but he isn't a bad player.  With Ernie at the helm he has become an essential part of the midfield.  Good on them both.  Mind you Brockie on the other hand.....

Agree with C.T. and hope what I said earlier didn't come across as too moany or whatever. Respect everyone's right to watch the game how they want. And would rather move somewhere else than stubbornly stand in front of a family who just want to watch the game. I guess people are just pointing these things out so future games can hopefully accommodate everyone as best as possible.

Cheers Joseph. Just read your post re: Security telling you to stop chanting. Now that sucks big time. Hopefully there will be a Match report for Eden Park, The security company, Ticketmaster, and who-ever else was involved in organising the Event.

See you next year in the official Eden Park Fever Zone...

Steve-O were you at the game? There was an incredibly angry Scotsman near me. I figured there's a good chance it was you purely based on the anger that he was displaying.

I noticed you were in two NZ teams to play Manchester United- including one at English park in Christchurch including George Best and Bobby Charlton, that my dad went to as a boy. Gee- that is a fair amount of change and institutional knowledge!

Anyway maxxo kudos to you sir.

There is a train service to Petone, depending on where you are coming from, not  necessarily a direct train service.....
