i heard we need to get 12k bums on seats or they are not going to play in akld again. does any one know any truth to this?

personally, i kinda don't want them to get 12k, just so I can go to another wellington game, but that is fairly selfish of me.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Note in particular:

Patrons will be requested to leave the Stadium during an event if they: Are intoxicated, or appear to be becoming intoxicated. Are verbally or physically abusive. Behave in a disorderly or offensive manner, or a manner contrary to public order.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Btw any word on who's playing in this 'celebrity' curtain-raiser?

I can confirm Dean Barker, Guy Williams, Dion Nash and Ben Boyce from the top of my head. Biggest names in the celebrity biz. There was talk of Tua but I think that fell through. Hoping Barker goes 8-1 up then completely throws it away.

In other words if you plan to stand up the entire game and call the ref a wanker, you're gone.

Surely that would mean that they shouldn't be selling beer at the venue, because any consumption of alcohol moves you closer towards being intoxicated?

Hope they are ready to turf out the entire Fever when we have a go at Jeronimo.

pax anyone?

Easy passes, don't have any that I can see.

Yeah man the easy tickets have them, ticketek do anyway, unless the tickets are being offered by someone else?

Ticketmaster.

There's no number like the PAX on Ticketek tickets.

There's a number on mine: 59815. Sell-out!

Probably more like "La Playa" - or "The Beach" after GCU is eventually reinstated to HAL and fields mostly Spanish speaking imports?

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Not making it to Auckland this year.  Will the Kings still be the place to go locally? (It will be a bit strange watching a 'home' match on the telly).

I know, I know, its serious!

Kings is cloded for EQ strenthening. Try the pub on the Terrace.

Hickey was on the rock this morning.

He said that over 11000 tickets have already been sold so they are expecting a decent crowd as Aucklanders are traditionally walk up patrons.

The game should defo get atleast 15k and maybe push higher.

So twice as much as a normal Welly crowd.... (sorry had to throw it in there : )

As much as this will annoy people on here, I really see the nix as a New Zealand team, not a Wellington team so I am glad they are travelling around a little. ( A bigger season would help soften the blow for Welly fans due to the shortage number of games).

Looking forward to a good win.

Besides at what time does the past become exactly that, the past.

Would like to know why? I never saw Kingz or Knights as a NZ team (even when they were named NZ Knights !!), bemusing how anyone from outside, or inside wellington, could see Nix as a national side? They play 2/3 season games away throughout NZ, and a couple of preseason too... thats it. The finanical backing is in wellington, the school of excellence is in wellington, we're not linked with any ASB Prem side outside of wellington. We wear black and yellow, and have WELLINGTON in our name. The players themselves dont even want to play anywhere else..

I see the Nix as an interesting mix of Wellington and NZ based. Being from neither Auckland or Welly, I find myself willing and able to support any NZ team in the A League. I was a keen supporter of the Kingz and Knights. I used to get extremely frustrated at Aucklanders for not supporting their teams. I think they lost out big time, because even if they didn't go because they didn't think the team was good enough, at least there was a chance. Now I am a passionate supporter of the Nix, even if it is twice as far away. I feel proud of the Nix though they are a Wellington team. I claim them as my team. I happily chant "Oh Wellington is wonderful" because they are. If it wasn't for Wellington I wouldn't have a football team to support. So thank you Wellnix, Wellington and NZ have a team.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet
