Sometimes a win is worth more than 3 points, that was one of those games.  I'd say a 4 or 5 pointer

So many of our players had absolute blinders tonight: Burns, Roly, Boxall, Moss, Durante, A-Rod. Absolutely stellar performance to get back and win that one.

Is that one of our absolute best performances? I reckon it is.

2 goals from set pieces in one game!? That's more of a shock than beating Victory away! Fudgeing great effort from the lads though. Still hasn't properly sunk in

More interesting to me than the goals from set pieces is the restoration of the pattern we had before the Asian Cup break, where we would start taking teams apart from 65-70 minutes in through greater fitness or staying power.

The defence came right after about 30 mins and excelled in the last 20. Even Griffiths contributed, perhaps he might be our lucky charm? Fantastic effort all around by everyone. A monkey off our back so to speak.

Those odds stacked against us were a huge anti jinx, and i fudgeing loved that Boxall goal . We need him in to play up front to head some in .

I'll take the $47.00 return on my $10.00 investment :)   Not as high odds as some people got but I placed the bet on Monday.

Great game to watch that one.  End to end stuff with some really nice touches from both teams but a fair result I reckon.

Well done lads.

Im not a complete idiot, some parts are missing!

Impressed with how Griffiths slotted straight in, might be a starter next week.

That game showed how far Ernie has taken this club in just a season and a half.

Just amazing.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

I bet Ernie had IMMENSE satisfaction from that performance and result.

that was a good game. I really enjoyed that both how Melbourne played and how we played. Game of the round.

Game of the round was WSW v Sydney

Both good games.  I think this game had the better football.

Careful, we're not top of the league yet. Team's still too erratic for my liking. Plus we seem to find it easier to play against a high-skill team of Tards than the idiot munters at WSW and the Jest. I still want to see a "Plan B" involving Nutpuncher.

What was the foul count for this game?

Our last two games really should have had a fewer opposition players on the park at the end.

Two remarkable things

Set pieces, which makes Melbin absolute poos at defending them

Boxall headering on target

A night of firsts. Brilliant

People give Boxall a lot of shark but I rate him. He's a fudgeing beast. Should've had a couple goals tonight. For a big lump he gets forward so well

Definitely! Imagine how dangerous he could be if he becomes more consistent with his final pass...

Hmmm..I don't think he is up to it speed wise yet..He dropped back to midfield pretty quickly.  Good to have him for variation tho.

Excellent game to watch between two highly skillful teams both trying to play football.....MV didn't try and kick the crap out of us.

Such a great feeling to finally beat MV on their home turf. So many of the lads put in a good shift....Durante and Boxall were excellent. Moss kept brilliantly especially at the end. A-Rod and Roly were great. Burns was outstanding...not everything he did came off but he really put their back four under pressure.

So pleased for Ernie.....beating MV would have made him very happy

As long as we get into the playoffs and play other teams who are trying to attack and win games we'll be fine

Well, there's a reason I don't post there, because I'd just be reminding everyone we're going to be knocked out in the semifinals again. :)

Did you not see him come from nowhere and absolutely burn off 2 victory players? Thought he was really good, surprised by how much pace he has for a 35 year old.
