The more attacking teams suits us better, more goals for us then for them. Boys have to show that they can win, enough mocking around in front of the goal!

Watching posters be downcast and doom gloom vs a month ago where we could win the title. How funny this is.

Next week we will be the worst team in the league..... *eye roll*

No wins in 4 games against teams lower than us on the table will have that effect. It's not like we reached this level of angst after one or even two disappointing results. Sure, WSW and Brisbane are better sides than their league positions suggest, but still...

This just in : 4 consecutive bad results against teams we should beat make fans feel less optimistic about season ahead.

*eye roll*

The measured response to the last 4 games would be that we should have got more out of all of them except perhaps the Brisbane game, where I thought we were largely dominated.

Poor finishing from Burns and Krishna in particular and some shoddy defending has let points slip, but I don't think we should be too dejected just yet - we are creating chances, and lots of them, and players like Hicks who have got barely any gametime are now coming off the bench and helping the cause.

I feel like we need the worm to turn soon, though, because creating a lot of chances, getting muscled out of the game, not scoring and letting cheap goals go in is becoming a bit of a habit.

2 points out of 12 will make fans dejected and cynical

it doesn't matter if you are wrong, as long as you are consistent in your wrongness, apparently. Like a broken clock.

Dejected yes.

Cynical - at the standard of A-League reffing yes.

But our football in general is very pleasing on the eye.  I would like to win ugly over losing (or drawing) beautifully, but it's not as if we are a sh!t team with a sh!t attitude (I don't think so at least).

Anyway, I'm hoping we mix it up a bit against the Vuctree.

We've become really predictable - we work it down the middle, shift it wide, Burns and/or Krishna crosses to the back post where there is only one of our players who usually does not get to it first. I counted us doing that or attempting to do that about 10 times in the 2nd half alone. It paid off for the first goal as a Newcastle defender stepped out of the line.

All teams have to do is make sure they have someone on the back post to clear it. It reminds me of how the Victory played with Archie/Rojas - it worked for a while until teams worked it out.

Would like to see A-Rod and Roly making more runs near post if we're going to play like that.

This and Valeo post sum it up for me

When we were playing rubbish under Ricki towards the end, there was moaning. Now we are playing good football - and it needs tweaking on the finishing and a couple of mental defensive lapses for sure - and there is doom and gloom. Its not like we have become a bad team. We are still playing good football, dominating and creating chances like we were 2 months ago. I think we keep doing what we are doing. I would rather be playing good football and being frustrated cause another day, we will fudge a team hard by about 6. For me, its a 2% adjustment and those lapses are gone and the ball is finding the net. Its not like we need to completely investigate our playing style and head back to the drawing board. Its a couple of small adjustments.

I would be more worried if we were not creating chances and lacked any clue on attack. What the fixes for our current problems are, I have nothing relevant to offer.

I think the other teams have figured us out - they now realise we are trying to score more goals than them.

As per this post in November it was the Precinct Hotel - near the ground, Nix fans had met there previously, would be surprised if it wasn't there again. It was really good.

You will find details on the Melbourne Fever facebook page.

So maybe Griffiths up top, then weeMac drops back to take A-Rod's spot?

by "figured us out" do you mean they've come to realise that hacking us down within 30 yards of theor own box stops us passing the ball and shooting - then I'd say you're right.

"If a player performs off the bench then they will get a start" - Potentially inaccurate recollection of Ernie earlier in the season. By that logic Hicks to start in weemacs position.

Don't think he's talking one cameo. Still needs to convince he's better than the incumbent. Definitely a good option for mixing it up a bit though, and would improve set pieces.

You know we belong together...

He may be 35, but if you look at his scoring record it is better than any player we have.
