Powell with a perfect hattrick too, head, left foot and then right foot. 3 shots, 3 goals!

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

Were people on here really bagging Powell? I don't read everything but I thought the general consensus was that he was a decent striker and our build up play was letting him down. Powell has received fantastic service today from Doyle of all people (who I did not expect to play like this).

Doyle can play a creative pass. So can Hicks and McGarry. Ride tons ball for Powells third was good vision.

I feel lost and confused. Where have my Phoenix gone and who are these people wearing yellow and black?

More importantly where has all the angst gone?

Must admit it's nice to have a big lump of a lad in Watson up front.

As for Powell get the contract drawn up for next year and force him to sign it at half time.

That's three lovely goals

This Hamish Watson fellow is good.

Seriously, I haven't seen any Powell bashing (though I've barely read this forum in a month); but I do remember lots of Tom Doyle bashing. Will those guys eat their words?

I can't be bothered going back but there were a few  and I remember them. :)

Doyle's hit a few, but over the last month we've had a few good balls allude everyone and drop at an empty back post.

So this is what it feels like to enjoy watching football. I had forgotten.

Western Sydney Squanderers...

Football is really worth it when your team revives from a long crap run to play like a table-topper.

I was barely interested in watching this one...but man !!!!

Makes up for the crap afternoon here in Christchurch with the earthquake and the potential Canterbury United game of the season against Auckland City postponed. Couldn't even stock up with the basics at a supermarket today with all of them closed.

Fourth goal for Powell in the second half.

there are 12 piss poor people on the pitch. 10 of western sydney, then redmayne who wont be watching reruns of this, the, worst of all, the ref. I cant believe some of the fouls he hasnt called.

Lot of early balls and crosses huh? Not a lot of through balls on the deck.

I don't think Redmayne was at fault for the third goal, but definitely for the first. Something my coaches have always hammered into my brain meats is that you come off your line, or you don't come off your line, but you NEVER start then pull out.

lets big it up for powell though, plenty of strikers would have come away with no goals from those chances. Pleased for him, he aint a bad player.

It just doesn't work, no matter what the Pope says. ;)

In other news: ouch, Roly keeps trying to do tricky things and leaves the ball behind every time.

Not true, you can use the rhythm method. Any record by Nicki Minaj or Daft Punk should do.
