I thought someone in the dug out was shouting "Mossy, Mossy give us a wave" when that cross went in for their first goal.

The way his arms were flapping around it looked like a wave. Sure Doyle was not marking his man tight enough and he will have learnt from that, sure Duro or Ben might've made a better effort at marking their man, Sure Moss could have made a much better effort at saving it but credit where it is due. The cross was pinpoint and their man got the exact touch on it that it needed and into the goal it went.

We still are not giving Perth the credit they are due. They played a good game. I would bag our guys too much. Only the first game of serious competition that they have had. I'm hoping they learned a lot from it.What worked and what didn't.

You can give Perth credit or you cannot give credit but either way I still feel that Perth are pretty crap. Did people watch Adelaide vs Brisbane or Melbourne City vs Sydney? Those games were very impressive, high intensity show downs. Melbourne Victory were also hugely impressive and the Wanderers will be better when they get their defenders back and now they have signed Ruka. I didn't see Newcastle vs CCM and it sounds like both teams were crap (as expected). If people are going "Perth are actually really good" I feel they might be shocked by just how good Adelaide, Sydney and even Melbourne City are when we play them.

I think Perth were alright. Think Newcastle could be OK too.

I watched the other games except Victory WSW one. They looked like last season. Nothing majorly outstanding.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Does anyone have a way to record the game and upload it online? I have work friday and saturday nights (im a poor student who has no sky or recording device). I know its alot to ask but would really appreciate it lol.

Also I think we will start to gel in this game, really hope we start boyd or over brockie, boyd may finish just as bad but does a hell of alot better on and off the ball.

                                        Brockie
Cunningham/boyd             Burns              Fenton
                Reira                            A-rod
Doyle         Sigmund              Durante          Muscat

Bench:   Roly, Boyd, Krishna, McG < (don't really feel he's quite match ready yet, just my opinion)

You cannot be serious.

Anyone who gets evicted for a YF shirts off at 80 minutes (if it happens) will be a bloody hero! The YF shirts off tradition is well established, well known, and respected. It would be a fantastic story for us if it happened.

I am looking forward to this game immensely.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Last week was last week. I reckon the boys would have been brought down to earth by the Perth game. Expecting them to come out firing on Saturday. I'm amped. I'm picking weemac to get on the score sheet again. Plus 1 other, as well as a clean sheet. Let's do them!!
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Genuinely getting excited about this game. (False hope?) Think we will have learnt a lot from last week and the boys should have every reason to be fired up.

At the start of Ernie's reign our problem was we had no Riera. Now we have three guys who could do that job, but we're trying to play them all. Our mids are a bit samey and we don't have wingers/forwards with the x-factor that have shown it as of yet. Hopeful about Cunningham, nervous about Burns' lack of pre-season goals, waiting on McG. Looking for our scoring 'Riera-type' saviour now we have plenty of damn cover in DM.

Agreed.

I think Roly looks like he has he ability to play a bit further forward - A-Rod, too, though he didn't show much against Perth. We'll see.

I think it will take a few weeks to settle down with a starting 11 that works. Yea, we've had how many months off season but everyone looks good against your Lower Hutts, your Mirimars etc. ALeague is a a few steps up. I have faith in Ernie. Plenty of time to turn this around.

Its a bit more complicated than you might think to record a game and upload it but there is a torrent community which uploads the games in pretty good quality to watch later. You have to make an account and it is a private tracker so you can be banned for not sharing, it can be a bit unreliable and take a very long time to find peers but its here: acrossthetasman.com/

I don't know of anywhere where you can stream A-league replays for free, I believe you can with a sky account or perhaps another online paid streaming service. If anyone knows of other good options I'd like to hear them, I follow the league pretty much exclusively via internet.

Apologies if we aren't allowed to post this sort of thing, mods feel free to delete this post after Joey reads it ;)

Rodriquez is box to box rather than a defensive midfielder. I agree though that it doesn't make much sense to pick all three of those guys at once. I think we really need to play Weemac centrally so he can pop up on either side. Then we can fit another winger into the side.

Nix at Blutongue Stadium P8 W3 D0 L5

If Brockie takes the field it will be his 50th game for the Nix.

CCM have 3 former Nix players on their books, Reddy, Cernak and B Griffiths.

Everyone makes mistakes, said the dalek climbing off the dustbin! He'll be fine with more game time and Fenton's better used left mid. Brockie off for Cunningham; at least he chases back!
