I think bwtcf just abused us. Mods take control ;)

Suddenly a wild and uncontrolled discussion about our Perf Glory game this Sunday threatens to break out in the middle of our perfectly civilised discussion about important matters (sci-fi cinema: yes, short-statured scientology-spouting stars: no).

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Speaking of Scientology and sci fi films, what about Battlefield Earth? Now there's a movie.

Back to the game, I hope Perth's Top Gun striker Keogh doesn't hit us like a Cruise missile or else it might be Mission Impossible for us. Still, we have A Few Good Men but getting something out of this game could be Risky Business. Either way I will need a Cocktail afterwards.

I also hope it doesn't Rain Man.

And the Nix are playing Far and Away! But if we keep our eyes wide shut, the collateral might be losing it or Oblivian

You know what's really messed up about that film? It's stupider and makes less sense than the original book. And the original book was by L. Ron Hubbard. Take a bow, Travolta, you made your guru's stuff worse.

Er, and we've going to get humped, I just know it.

Wasn't it voted as worst movie ever made? Surpassing Plan 9 from Outer Space?

Personally I'd vote for "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" (.... from Perth)

You have to distinguish between big budget worse movies and low budget worse movies. The classics include Manos the hand of fate,  plan 9, Glen or Glenda, and the room. Then there's the Hollywood ones life show girls or battle field earth.

Although I think Keogh is probably a blockbuster watching sort of guy.

Who the hell cast him as Jack Reacher? Baffling

He's way too short to be Jack Reacher ffs. Should never ever have played him, unless he could be CGI'd taller

I thought he was great as Reacher and I'm one of the few who actually enjoyed that movie. Just have to get over the short thing, Reacher is more than his height.

And I just know the intern who will soon be doing all of the Glorys marketing for free would agree with me.

True that Reacher is more than just his height, but his size is a plot point in the books - he smashes guys because he's huge, all the time. It's not like a character who is described a certain way but that description doesn't actually affect anything in the story. Reacher is blond too but who cares if someone with dark hair plays him because hair colour doesn't actually impact on anything.

But to be fair I haven't actually seen Cruise as Reacher except in trailers so maybe it works better than I would think!

Something something football something something A-Rod something something.

There's a sequel movie coming out late this year, based on the Never Go Back book.  And yes, Cruise is signed to play Reacher again.

Jack Reacher is cool. Read all 21 books. Not Cruises fault he is dyslexic. He thought Reacher was 5'6" not 6'5".

Back to Perth, Keogh is just the sort of mongrel striker we need. Someone to bully the defence, yet score some pretty handy goals.

Song for Ante Covic:

You never close your eyes anymore when you play the Nix

And there's no tenderness like before when between the sticks

You're trying hard not to show it

But Ante, Ante I know it

You've lost that gloving feeling

Oh that gloving feeling

You've lost that gloving feeling

Now its gone, gone, gone

Oh oh whooa

only if we sign a someone who goes onto be a club Legend. imagine another Ifill we could show Endless Love to?

Any one know about this Jerry Mcguire character? ive heard he has All The Right Moves.  He doesnt tend to drop his head when we start Losin' it though.

(and that is all my Cruise missile knowledge)

Instead of "Losin' It", we could become "The Outsiders" and be "The Firm" that "Without Limits" actually shows "The Others" "The Color of Money" with 3 points.
