OK, so maybe a bit early to draw any firm conclusions but this week I did NOT wear YF bucket hat and Season 3/4 away shirt over Din in the Tin T (home streak was 2 draws that should have been wins).

This week I are been wearing Pass to Ifill T over Old Stripey and cos it was all wet and windy like I had a beanie.

It will have to be Pass to Ifill for the rest of the season.

Yeah was only thanks to the lights from other cars that we could see where to go. Johnsonville Road was flooded too. Lucky we decided to take the amphibious car!

Quite a day and a match. Some of the weather was excellent. Some of the football was excellent.  Loved it all.

If I can remember and count correctly, then we've scored 4 goals from free kicks in the last 3 games. Good times.

Our corners still suck though

Ballane, did that happen up near us? I saw a few hats go over the back of the stand and got retrieved. Pretty friggen stupid actions with a Beer can.

Is this a game thread or a beat up Doloras thread? If you don't agree with her, ignore her but to be honest some of the shark some dish out to her is not warrented, deserved. If only those abusers reflect on how perfect they are. We all put our feet in our mouths from time to time, I know I do but Doloras is entitled to her opinion, she is passionate about any subject, nothing wrong with that. I don't always agree with her either but.......

Back to the game/s the chairty match saw us all get friggen soaked, then some bell end in a suit tried to show he was the boss and told us to move out after the game. We should have started up with a "Who Are Ya" as we knew it was a temp stay. The main match was amazingly better than I expected with those weather conditions. At the top of the stand we were getting pressed against the back wall half of the time. The croud were in good spirits though and it really does make a difference. The humour is brilliant in the Zone.

I would love to see us stay at Hutt Rec. Handy to everything, pub, transport, car parks. Great food at the Belle. Security being security instead of the tadium fun police. Westpac well and truely sucks IMO, a Fran Wilde White Elephant unless it is full. Roof or no roof, I had more fun at the Rec than at most times at the Tin.

We lose = I was right and we never should have hired Ernie.

We win last week = If we lost last week, you would all agree with me about Ernie.

We win this week = We are the greatest team in the world.

You don't blame them for throwing people to the ground and then continually punching them? Okay then.

So did anyone intervene? I can imagine everyone was in a state of shock and Brendon probably would not have seen it coming, who would? Are the police involved?

Anyone can give out a kicking if the victim doesn't know its coming. That's a sh*t and cowardly thing to do.

Anyone got the IFILL #8 LEGEND banner or the CROUD ATTENDENCE banner? After they finished punching and kicking me I don't know what happened to the banners.

I hope Liz ans Ross have still got my Phoenix flags. Don't know where they ended up either.

I am okay but sore.

I've been to the Police and filed an incident. There probably won't be charges laid. Once the Police send me the file number I will write to Baxters and the Phoenix about it.

It's Brandon, not Brendon by the way.

I saw it coming. There was a good 15 minutes of him shouting that he was going to fudge me up after the game during the seond half. none of us were blameless, and different points of view and perceptions saw things escalate out of control.

What happened was:

During the game the Nix just missed a goal. When the ball shaved the post we all threw our hands up in the air in dismay. I had a beer can that had half a mouthful left in it... almost empty. The guy next to me's hand hit my forearm as we all threw our arms up... the can got knocked out of my hand and the wind caught it and it sailed over the back of the stand. We turned and watched it, and in a one in a million chance it went straight in one of the hatches on the top of the Baxter's van.

We all initially laughed, saying "You couldn't do that if you tried! What a shot!"

The guy in the van looked up through the hatch and did the fingers at us. (Apparently it had landed in the fryer, so I can imagine why he'd have been annoyed. I imagine he assumed someone (me) had intentiuonally thrown the can and tried to get it in the hatch...).

He started gesturing to me that I should go down there to him. I said to him "What do you want me to do? It was an accident. Calm down mate.." This went on for about 5 minutes on and off.

He then came out fo the van and started yelling at me from on the grass behind the Baxter's van saying at full time him and his mate were going to get me. He went on like this swearing at me for several minutes. After telling him to calm down and let it go, and repeating that it was an accident... he said "At the end of the game bro I'm gonna fudge you up. I'm gonna hunt you down."

I told him to pierce off and calm down, and in a moment of poor judgement threw a half full can at him. It missed.

At full time him and his brother (or cousin, or mate) walked around the grandstand and walked along the front pointing at me. I stopped about 3 steps from the bottom and he stepped up and put his hand on my chest and told me he was going to fudge me up.

I told him to calm down. He grabbed my arm, wouldn't let go, started twisting it, and I pushed him... we went down a couple of steps, got up, and him and his brother/mate rushed at me grabbed me hauled me down the steps and threw me to the ground and repeatedly kicked and punched me.

Some people intervened (thank you) and pulled them off me. Red Badge came along and separated everyone and took names and numbers.

I've been to the Police station this moring and filed an incident.

When I get the file number I will write to Baxter's and the Phoenix about it.

Can someone explain what happened? Who punched this guy on the ground? Was it the security company or a member of the croud?

Ali think your defense kind of falls down the second time you threw a can. I would withdrawal the complaint if I were you.

Kicking someone on the ground - what a piss weak thing to do. People who stoop that low have some serious underlying mental issues that need addressing. Normal people don't do this kind of shark

I agree, and disagree with you.

I agree, as stated, that throwing the second can was a mistake.

However the advice I have got it that it would be two separate incidents, processed indpendently. They said if I pressed charges for the second incident where they punched and kicked me, that would be assault by them and there were plenty of witnesses. However the first incident, where I threw the second beer can would be brought up by the Baxter's guy. And I probably don't want that to be progressed...

The advice I got from the Police was NOT to not 'make a complaint' (althought technically it is not a 'complaint' it is 'reporting an incident'). They said report the incident, but do not press charges. So there is no 'withdrawl of the complaint' necessary.

I disagree.

As I explained to Ballane (Steve) on the phone he only saw a subset of the events. Patrick also only saw a subset fo the events, but a different subset.

Based on the subset of events Steve witnessed and what he did and did not know, I reckon his 'rant' was pretty spot on and ballanced.

Likewise, as I explained to Steve, Patrick didn't see what Steve saw (the guy telling Red Badge people had been launching misiles at him and the Baxter's food van and that he wanted them thrown out) and all Patrick saw was a guy attack me (which Steve didn't see). So what Patrick said made sense from what he had and had not seen and heard.

Everyone's reaction is a result of the lens through which they saw things. And when you only see or experience part of a chain of events you can end up with very different conclusions than others who see other subsets of the whole.

Steve agreed with me about this on the phone and hence his post saying it's not as it seemed...
