No brainer..it was obvious on the first match day that the lights wouldnt cope with late kickoff.
R20 vs Adelaide | Sat 7 Mar | NOW 5:00pm | Bellevue Gardens Hotel
Pretty embarrassing really. Should have been sorted months ago.
How many cranes can fit on the corners of the field? Not enough lights to hang?
Well yeah, so pretty much FFA's fault for letting it all go ahead. You think one of the first things they wouldve done is had someone look at the lights 7pm-9pm and say "Oh not enough light, lets get more lights or just make sure games are played earlier"
Just ask everyone to bring a torch. Sorted.
Fudge, gotta hastily re-arrange my schedule.

not sure about that. FFA set the minimum lightening level. Nix probably said they could meet it. And turns out they couldn't. Pretty obvious months ago it wouldn't be sufficient so don't know why test were only being done this week.

Anyone who has been at the ground and seen the lighting setup will not be surprised by this.

Still their fault for taking our word for it. If you want something done the way you want it, you do it yourself.
so they were supposed to set it all up and test the lights before even approving the Hutt rec as a venue?
Seems impractical.
Just ask everyone to bring a torch. Sorted.
A few Army issue "Day Maker" Flares should fit the FFA lighting policy.
Ball boys can clear the pitch during 'Foul" breaks.
We've got the best floodlights in the league ...

RBB?
I'm going on old memory here but there is a minimum amount of LUX required for night time TV broadcast and floodlights are given a LUX rating as a matter of course. I'd imagine that the rating of these lights was listed as being good enough but some bright spark [see what I did there?] would have seen them in action and thought "I don't think they are going to be bright enough' - tested them and sure enough - not up to scratch. Understandable how it might have happened but shouldn't have really.
Big job going round town and changing all the posters !

This would never have had happened at Petone Rec...
From the Sydney Herald
We've got a genuine title contender from New Zealand
It's taken 10 seasons but, yes, there's a real chance silverware could be headed across the Tasman. This Wellington Phoenix side may not make headlines like Melbourne Victory or Sydney FC, or be the subject of philosophical debates like Perth and Adelaide, but they have snuck under the guard of everyone and now sit just three points off top spot. No team in the league has won more games than the Phoenix and their win over the Victory at AAMI Park was a hurdle of legitimacy they've never cleared – until now. Roly Bonevacia, in particular, has taken his game up a few gears and now sits among the league's elite.
We're doomed I tell you, doomed
Phew, migth have good news for me, a mate might be able to work half the shift for me. Fingers crossed.
TIFO idea:
Picture of a knee-sliding man with a red line through it.
"No Knee Sliding"
(a reference to the antics of Adelaide coach Gombau when his team scores)
[I'm not going to make it, but happy for someone else to]

Hate to break your home games record due to admin error
Is there a bus running from Four Kings?
(missus took it upon herself to inform me today thats shes planning to be in Martinborough on Sat, which is a bit of a spanner)
Wiped my arse with my 4 tickets and flushed them ......... friggin another stupid 5pm kick off, just when I thought they had seen the light (or floodlights maybe).
I wont be going to anymore games this season.

You won't be going to anymore games because one of the five remaining home games got shifted a little bit early?

Agreed. As someone who resides out of Wellington and cant only make it to a handful of matches a season this attitude disappoints me a lot.
If you cant make 5pm kick offs for whatever reason then I feel genuinely sorry for you, but throwing your toys because of something out od your control changed is a bit over the top in my opinion.
Feck! Anyone want three tickets for 50 Shades of Grey- 4:20 pm session?

As someone from out of town ( as am I) I am suprised with your attitude and you can stick your opinion C-Diddy.
As usual on this forum uninformed idiots are quick to post dumb comments.
I don't feel I have to justify my post but I will.
I am an out of town supporter with kids that play cricket so cant get away till late afternoon, this 7pm kickoff was going to be ideal for us I had manged to book cheap flights for late afternoon and arranged a car and accommodation so we as a family could attend this game. Earlier notice would have been more than helpful to supporters and if you bothered to read previous pages in this subject you will see a number of posters commenting on the late notice of this time change.
Post what you like now as I dont think I'll can back here for a while.
The Spirit of Bon Jovi is strong within you Youngling.

I'm sure you purchased event insurance on the flights since you left such a fine margin.
Surely that's the risk you take in booking flights etc to turn up just before the game.
Understand you're frustrated, but it's just an unfortunate circumstance in your case.

Why didnt you just say this in your other post?
I do actually empathise with you on the change of time but not giving a reason doesnt help others like myself fully understand your position. Apologies if I sounded harsh.
Just take the kids to 50 Shades
Anyone know the number of ticket sales atm?
Not surprising at all, the lights were poor and those on the cranes were incredibly dazzling I found.
No doubt some people will be unable to make it, but 5pm is a much better time for the Hutt Rec, for the bouncy castles, for the kids, and for me, so I will be taking extra
Yes, we can't forget the children, think of them and walking the dogs....
To be honest, the club and especially the FFA can expect a lot of flack on this. They can also expect a lower gate as a result of some not getting their emails, texts etc for various reasons. Perhaps they dont have either for example. Yes, there are some who don't. Gonna be funny if a huge croud show up as the game is finishing.
I wonder if the FFA would play this type of stunt on WSW or Victory? Yes I know that the lighting might be an issue but why not have made it a 5pm game in the first place like the previous two games?
I really sympathise with those whom have been inconvenienced. I just hope my work colleague comes to the party. Will know Thursday night for definate.
