Also Americans are a touchy feely lot, when I was working over there we had a social baseball team and everyone was high fiving all the time, and you see all the time on TV that it's common for guys to slap each other on the arse, etc.

Kiwis are a bit more reserved.

The research into the impact of oxytocin on sports performance is cross-cultural, not just specific to the US. Plus half our players aren't kiwis anyway.

People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.

Rubbish he was just as confrontational when he played with us why should it have any affect on his legacy if he has taken that same style to his new team. Any way isnt he just saying to Kosta "nice dive son thats worth a10"

That doesn't look good.

And with the elbow to Doyle... weakening his legacy he had with us

Another straight red.

lets get this straight Muscat should have been sent off but Doyles two footed challenge, both feet of the ground, was okay? He also went into another challenge with one foot off the ground that should have been a yellow!! The Phoenix are no angels thats all I'm saying

No one is saying we are angels. But some of us are saying that there was no need for that and it deserved a red like he used to get when playing for us.

I noticed at halftime that all the Melbourne B players were huddled together high fiving each other and back-slapping and generally looking like a group of guys who got on and wanted to play together while our guys were all over the place not looking at each other and just trudging off. I think that's not only a symptom of our crisis but also part of the cause.with the exception of Dura's angry shouting there's no passion or obvious team pride. Some NBA teams make a deliberate effort to high five or hug more because it's socially bonding and statistically teams which do it more win more.

Agree with the sentiment.  Not sure how I would have felt at half time and full time if I saw our guys high fiving for that performance.

Basketball is a bit different cause the players are constantly netting goals thus the score board is always ticking over.

Maybe they need to do a team building day out.

You can do it after a good shot or tackle or something too when the ball is out of play. And we wouldn't have to be high fiving after that performance but at least huddled round or putting hands on each other's backs and things like that. Because positive physical contact releases the hormone oxytocin which promotes social bonding and empathy, and has been proven to enhance individual and team performance in team sports.

Good point.  I feel we do this when we've made a last ditch save of a goal and forced a corner.  Guess a bit more team camaraderie never hurt anyone.
