Could well be Burgess in for Singh, but although Burgess works real hard, he is not so good at that crucial link up play.

You reckon. Now I accept that Singh has been great, at least on occasions, but Burgess has had hardly any chance to show himself, and from what Ive seen, I thought hes acquitted himself very well.

I'm not by any means saying we will smash them, but this has got to be overall the weakest matchday squad in years. Half of that team have only played a handful of professional games. Poor Karacan will be doing a lot of running on Saturday

I dare say it there's going to be some surprises between now and the end of the season if certain players don't step up to the mark and perform."

No messing about with Rudes.

'Certain players' - this could include Singh. Rudan was always pretty guarded when journalists invited him to praise Singh. I'm a Singh fan, but he tends to be a player of moments - can turn a game with a shot, dribble or through ball -  but doesn't contribute as much between moments; not so good at winning possession.

'More attacking players' - could be a change of formation, 4-3-3 or 3-4-3, e.g.

   Taylor Dura Golec

Fenton  Mandi  Singh  Cacace

    Williams Sheridan Krishna

That's an attacking lineup - at the cost of a weakness at DM.

Stensness added to the squad - didn't think he stood out even by Weenix standards. Kumsuz looked more talented.

Kopa for me has done some good defensive work, even made some nice runs, but lacks vision and creativity and looks uncomfortable on the ball. In his brief appearance, Golec looked good. And he's left footed.

Singh is a creative and attacking player. When the Nix play  5 at the back with 2 defensive midfielders such as the Sydney game then the remaining 3  players regardless of their ability,  face a daunting task.

Reckon Taylor will be out and we'll see Golec/Lowry/Dura at the back, which is a worry.

5"1 teenager Josh Nisbett set to get his starting debut for the Mariners. Can the team just promise to not let him win any aerial duel? That's all I ask

I can feel a big win coming!

With big Sheridan up top and Krishna and Williams running off him, CCM are going to capitulate under their constant pressure and pace. One of their CB's to get a red card tonight.

If can’t win this, we should sack the coach! (sarcasm)

No more love on the run

Feels like an age since we've been on the pitch, really looking forward to it.

Still we have to be cautious as we let them dominate us in that first half in Wellington and we were almost tipped over. Can't let them get that kind of foothold again, especially now that the race for the playoff spots has closed right up. Going for a 2-0 win, but will be a challenging game I feel.

I'd rather have him sit out this game than the one against the Jets. Get well Taylor.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Gianni Stensness makes the bench... Can't really comment on him, and all I really know is that he came over here with Tacettin Kumsuz with both looking at making themselves available for NZ selection? (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Anyone able to give us a run down on the type of player he is, and what he's likely to bring to the table if he makes it onto the pitch?

Quite a make shift line up, but I guess they've had a few days to iron it out. Burgess in centre midfield will be interesting. Glad Singh is getting another chance to light up the game.

very attacking bench with Burns and Shepard. But really, who else is there.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Golec starting, this will be interesting to see. Hope Burns and the Sheriff come on in the 60 min. Like to see tjeir chemistry.

In a number of ways this is like an early finals game for us.

Spain '82 is where it all really began for me. There were a few moments before, plenty of moments after, but that World Cup was the zeitgeist.
